A bogus hostage situation reported at the home of “That 70s Show” star Ashton Kutcher has cost Los Angeles $10,000 (£6,000) in wasted police manpower and resources.

According to law enforcement sources, the emergency teletext — which is intended for deaf people as an alternative to a 911 call — resulted in massive police response to Ashton Kutcher’s mansion in Arrowhead Drive last Wednesday. The distress call was said to be from a woman who claimed she was the victim of a violent home invasion robbery, but the case has now been treated as an elaborate prank known as “swatting.”

The swatting prank is said to have resulted in a huge number of police deployed to the home of Ashton Kutcher, involving dozens of heavily-armed police officers from several divisions, including a Los Angeles Police Department helicopter.

The alleged victim called 911 and said that she had locked herself inside one of the bachelor pad’s bathrooms, after three gunshots were fired and that “people were either injured or dead.”

Three men have been detained when the Los Angeles Police Department arrived on the scene of the alleged hostage, but the suspects have already been cleared after it was discovered that they were workers who were renovating the property under the authorization of Ashton Kutcher.

Reports said that there was no sign of the supposed victim and the authorities are “aggressively” looking for a culprit after ruling it as a case of “swatting,” where someone falsely reports a serious crime.

A Los Angeles Police Department spokesman said in a statement, “Right now, I believe it is all clear and checked. Public safety is no longer an issue there.”

Ashton Kutcher — who is currently dating actress Mila Kunis — was not at home at the time of the incident, but rushed home immediately.

The Hollywood comedian purchased the $3.6 million mansion following his split from Demi Moore back in March.

‘Punk’d’ purveyor Ashton Kutcher and his production company, Katalyst Media, sued California’s Department of Motor Vehicles for allegedly abandoning a deal to make a reality show featuring the department’s personnel and patrons.

E! News obtained copies of the lawsuit filed this Tuesday at the Los Angeles Superior Court. According to the paperwork, Kutcher’s  planned reality show ‘DMV’ aimed to “capture the variously humorous, emotional, dramatic, moving, humanizing and entertaining situations” at the department’s “more than 170 offices across the State of California.”

Ashton Kutcher and Katalyst Media claimed that DMV Director George Valverde agreed to the planned reality show in a letter dated June 8, 2010. The  Department of Motor Vehicles was supposed to provide access to its various facilities to shoot four initial episodes during the summer and fall of 2011. Deputy Director Mike Marando also publicly announced the department’s involvement.

E! News reported that the business partners of Ashton Kutcher used that agreement with the DMV to negotiate a pact with TruTV. (Aside from ‘Punk’d,’ previous brainchildren by Katalyst Media included reality shows ‘Beauty and the Geek’ and ‘True Beauty.’)

However, six weeks after signing the deal, Katalyst’s suit alleged that the DMV suddenly ”changed course.” Deputy Director Mike Marando sent a five-sentence letter to Katalyst Media producer Jason Goldberg. The letter declared that the department no longer believed that a reality show with Ashton Kutcher was in its “best interests,” so it would “not be moving forward on such a project.”

According to E! News, California’s Deputy Attorney General reaffirmed last December that ‘DMV’ reality show “does not directly serve the public interest or carry out DMV’s mission.” Plaintiffs Ashton Kutcher and Katalyst Media, however, countered that such a reason did not suffice as a legitimate legal basis for DMV to breach the contract.

Katalyst asked for at least $1.4 million in damages to cover pre-production work that they had already carried out before the DMV pulled out.

E! News was unable to contact any representatives for Ashton Kutcher, Katalyst Media, or theDepartment of Motor Vehicles for commentary.

Charlie Sheen regretted how he ruined his relationship with former ‘Two And A Half Men’ star Jon Cryer, whom he had called a “traitor” and a “troll.”

Perez Hilton reported that Sheen’s recent interview with Playboy saw the 46-year-old ‘Anger Management’ star admitting to taking it all out on co-star Cryer during Sheen’s last few weeks on the hit comedy show. ”That was wrong,” he admitted. “I whaled on him unnecessarily…”

According to Charlie Sheen, Jon Cryer ”was trying to keep the sh-t together” on the show, “trying to cover my ass,” and also trying to “pick up the slack. He just got caught in the crossfire,” Sheen said.

After calling Cryer “a beautiful man and a f**king fabulous dude,” Sheen also admitted to Playboy that “I miss him.”

According to Perez Hilton, Sheen claimed that “I need to repair that relationship, and I will.” He vowed to reach out and do whatever he needed to mend fences with Cryer.

An apology would probably be easy or even unneeded. In an interview with David Letterman, which took place after Ashton Kutcher replaced Charlie Sheen on ‘Two and a Half Men,’ Jon Cryer expressed his desire for his former colleague to be healthy and happy.

“I want him to stay sober,” Jon Cryer said of Charlie Sheen. “I want him to be reunited with his family. That would be the best thing,” he believed.

If recent rumors are true, even a shocking case of infidelity and months of separation are apparently not enough to break the bonds between Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore.

Gossip Center reported that RadarOnline sources claimed that the former Hollywood couple briefly reunited to celebrate the 40th birthday of Rabbi Yehuda Berg, the man who officiated their wedding seven years ago. Those same sources also claimed that Kutcher and Moore were “locked in a 60-second embrace.”

Gossip Center further reported that a Sunday Mirror mirror source claimed that Ashton Kutcher became emotional during his speech toasting Rabbi Berg. According to the source, while saying that Yehuda will “love you unconditionally, no matter what mistakes you’ve made,” Kutcher became emotional and brought up his own failings.

“I’ve made all these horrendous mistakes in the last year,” Kutcher admitted. Perez Hilton additionally reported that according to onlookers, the watching Demi Moore was supposedly frozen.

The Sunday Mirror insider claimed that Aston Kutcher and Demi Moore are “still desperately in love and could be on for a reconciliation.” The same insider pointed out that “the divorce isn’t being processed right now.”

GossipCenter earlier reported that ‘Two and A Half Men’ star Ashton Kutcher was caught with 23-year-old Sara Leal at the San Diego Hard Rock hotel last year. Making it worse was that he got caught during his sixth wedding anniversary with Demi Moore.

After filing for divorce, Demi Moore dropped her twitter name of MrsKutcher and adopted JustDemi. Meanwhile, Ashton Kutcher was recently linked to Mila Kunis and Rihanna. However, neither Moore or Kutcher have officially filed papers for legal separation.

In a Youtube Video gone viral on Sunday, funnyman Hasan Minhaj sandblasted Ashton Kutcher and Popchips for the infamous ‘brownface’ advert.

Ashton Kutcher depicted a stereotypical Bollywood film producer in a Popchips ad that made fun of South Asian stereotypes. The advertisement spot generated an uproar and charges of racism.

Hasan Minhaj is Indian-American. He asked why Kutcher and the chipmaker considered it all right to lampoon Indians to sell a snack instead of mocking other minorities such as African-Americans.

Minhaj roasted Kutcher’s depiction as inaccurate. “You have a s–tty accent and you’re not even being racist correctly,” he pointed out.

“Maybe Popchips didn’t consciously want to offend minorities,” Hasan Minhaj allowed. “But subconsciously they knew they could get away with clowning Indians and Asians,” he accused, “Because that’s the way it is now.”

“They wouldn’t do that with any other ethnicity,” Minhaj said, noting that there’s a barbecue flavor of Popchips. After asking, “Why didn’t you make him blackface and Tyrone?” He answered his own question: “Because you knew you’d get [bleep] buried, Popchips, that’s why. And you know Asians and Indians are the new clownable minority,” he accused.

“You’re closing us in a little box and making all Indian people look like the Metro PCS guys,” Hasan Minhaj complained after showing brief clips of said Metro PCS guys, who are also Indian caricatures. “And we’re not like that, OK?” he reminded Ashton Kutcher, Popchips, and viewers. “So don’t do that,” Minhaj  concluded.

Popchips has already apologized for the Bollywood character. Ashton Kutcher and his rep have both kept quiet on the matter.

The  Popchips ad front starring Ashton Kutcher continues to provoke controversy. E! News earlier reported that Popchips recently featured an online spoof of dating videos. The ‘Two and a Half Men’ star plays a bunch of bachelors from around the world. One was a Bollywood parody featuring Ashton Kutcher wearing ‘brownface’ and speaking with an Indian accent.

Following a storm of accusations of racism, the infamous Popchips video was pulled from the brand’s official YouTube channel and Facebook page. It later reappeared on Popchips’ YouTube channel.

Popchips CEO Keith Belling told E! News in a statement that, ”We are removing the individual Bollywood character from our out-of-home advertising campaign that launches May 7. We received a lot feedback about the dating campaign parody we launched today and appreciate everyone who took the time to share their point of view.”

Added Belling: “Our team worked hard to create a lighthearted parody featuring a variety of characters that was meant to provide a few laughs. We did not intend to offend anyone. I take full responsibility and apologize to anyone we offended.”

A number of celebrities posted their opinions of the Popchips ad online. ’America’s Got Talent’ judge Sharon Osbourne tweeted that Ashton Kutcher was terrible… at comedy.

“The problem with Ashton Kutcher’s ad is that his impressions were so lame and weak and that’s why it’s offensive!” Osbourne opined on her Twitter page.

Indian-American funnyman Aziz Ansari immediately added the Popchips ad to his repertoire. ”In light of the Ashton Kutcher PopChips scandal, I feel obliged to confess that in my AmEx spots I am also wearing brown face,” tweeted the ’Parks and Recreations’ star.

“In honor of the PopChips scandal,” Ansari added, “Let’s all watch Short Circuit 2 today & have our heads explode. IndianGuyisActuallyFisherStevens.”

Other initial reactions were generally positive. ”LOL @aplusk! Love this…,” Kim Kardashian wrote on her Twitter page. She also added a link to the video.

In the Popchips ad, the Ashton Kutcher character Swordfish desired something “hot and spicy.” His Bollywood alter-ego of Raj quipped: ”Like Kardashian hot. I would give that dog a bone.”

“Check out my man Ashton’s new dating video,” Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant announced on Facebook. “It’s nuts.”

And from the Twitter page of ‘American Idol’ host Ryan Seacrest: “now it’s official… @aplusk! is definitely dating again.”

Ashton Kutcher himself has kept quit on the matter of his Popchips ad. His camp has also refused to comment.

A new Pop Chips viral ad has drawn a lot of attention- and a lot of criticism- for featuring Ashton Kutcher as a “Bollywood producer” who’s “looking for the most delicious thing on the planet.”

The Huffington Post reports that the ‘Two and a Half Men’ star shakes his head while talking in the Pop Chips clip. Kutcher also uses a strong accent.

A number of Twitter users soon began criticizing Aston Kutcher and Pop Chips for using a white actor to portray an Indian character. The controversy quickly gained momentum and coined the term “brownface.” Well-known Twitter personalities like writer Anil Dash and New York rappers Das Racist -who were named such long before this current controversy- tweeted their disgust.

Some users responded to Das Racist by saying they were overreacting. But it’s not the first viral scandal for Ashton Kutcher.

The actor previously “quit” Twitter after he tweeted support for Penn State coach Joe Paterno. Paterno was relieved of his coaching duties for his connection to a sex scandal in the Penn State football program.

Ashton Kutcher later apologized for his tweet. The actor said that he did not know why Joe Paterno was fired during the time he tweeted his reaction. He then handed over control of his Twitter account to his staff.

He also got into a spat with The Village Voice over the paper’s infamous ‘Backpage’ advertisements. Ashton Kutcher and many child safety advocates accuse those ads of protecting pedophiles and child traffickers.

Meanwhile, Pop Chips has recently responded to the criticism with a statement on The Hollywood Reporter.

“The new popchips worldwide dating video and ad campaign featuring four characters was created to provoke a few laughs,” the Pop Chips statement relayed, “And was never intended to stereotype or offend anyone. At popchips we embrace all types of shapes, flavors and colors, and appreciate all snackers, no matter their race or ethnicity. We hope people can enjoy this in the spirit it was intended.”

The Pop Chips ad supposedly cost $1.5 million. Ashton Kutcher also impersonates a hippie, a biker, and German fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld. The same viral campaign took place in the UK back in February, where it kicked off much the same controversy.

Pop star Rihanna was reportedly spotted leaving the Los Angeles mansion of actor Ashton Kutcher at four in the morning of Thursday.

According to the reports, the 24-year-old Rihanna was snapped knocking on the door of “Two and a Half Men” star’s door at 12am, donning a pair of denim hot pants. She then popped in and stayed for four hours in Ashton Kutcher’s place. Earlier that evening, Rihanna had a quiet meal with a female friend at Giorgio Baldi’s restaurant in Santa Monica. A source said, “It has been a while since Ashton Kutcher was getting late-night visits from pretty girls.” The source added, “He has been on his best behaviour, but when Demi finds out, you can only imagine what she’ll think. She is old enough to be Rihanna’s mum.

Former ‘Two and a Half Men’ actor Charlie Sheen may have said some not-so-nice words about his show replacement, Ashton Kutcher. But Sheen is taking it all back now. Amidst the dispute of Warner Bros. and the ‘Hot Shots!’ star over the use of Charlie Sheen’s photos to promote his new show, Ashton Kutcher was caught in the middle of the crossfire and Sheen even said that “he sucks.” But now, he has issued an apology to Kutcher.

According to the reports, Charlie Sheen felt really bad for telling Ashton Kutcher that the actor “sucks” as the new lead on ‘Two and a Half Men.’ Days after trashing Ashton Kutcher and the direction that “Two and a Half Men” has taken with him, Sheen posted a tweet Tuesday morning apologizing for his angry outburst.

“Dear Ashton- My bad,” Sheen’s penance reads. “I was disrespectful to a man doing his best. I got excited and threw you into a crossfire, but the rest of my statement I stand behind. You, however, deserve better. Safety in your travels good sir. – The “late Charlie Harper”

As to the “rest of my statement,” Charlie Sheen was referring to the part where he bashed his former series.

“I’m tired of lying. I’m tired of pretending like the show doesn’t suck. I’m tired of pretending like Ashton Kutcher doesn’t suck,” Charlie Sheen told TMZ over a phone interview last week. “I’m tired of pretending like they’re not completely adrift,” he added. “Because when you take away the anchor from your show, which they stupidly did, you go adrift. And these guys are approaching like salvage vessel.”

Charlie Sheen, who was terminated from the series early last year for his erratic behavior and wayward personal life, has oscillated in his view of “Men” in recent months. In September, the 46-year-old actor appeared at the Emmy Awards to wish the show “nothing but the best” — days before reaching a reported $25 million settlement in his lawsuit against Warner Bros. Television and “Two and a Half Men” creator Chuck Lorre, whom he also had some verbal altercation.

The ‘Due Date’ star’s most recent slam of the show as well as of Ashton Kutcher came just days after Charlie Sheen got  a cease and desist order from Warner Bros., apprehending him from using any Warner Bros. photos to promote his upcoming FX series “Anger Management,” as he reportedly did at the NATPE conference last month.

‘Hot Shots!’ star Charlie Sheen thinks there’s no more need to play Mr. Nice Guy, nor keep up with pretenses. The actor’s previous bosses from Warner Bros. issued a cease-and-desist letter to Charlie Sheen because of Sheen’s use of pictures from ‘Two and a Half Men’ days to promote his new show. Since then, Sheen has only but unkind words for the officials of Warner Bros – and now, even for his replacement Ashton Kutcher.

The 46-year-old Charlie Sheen did say some positive things about Ashton Kutcher before, even praising his performance, but that is no longer the case. During a phone call with TMZ, Sheen said, “I’m tired of lying. I’m tired of pretending the show doesn’t suck. I’m tired of pretending Ashton doesn’t suck.”

Charlie Sheen then added, “It’s nothing personal…I just feel bad for him [Ashton Kutcher]. He’s saddled with such bad writing.”

The comments of Charlie Sheen came a few days after reports came out that lawyers for ‘Two and a Half Men’ studio Warner Bros. sent a cease-and-desist letter to Charlie Sheen demanding him to stop using photos from the show to promote his upcoming FX series ‘Anger Management.’ The move by Warners Bros., apparently sent Charlie Sheen to a fit of rage.

“There’s just nothing about it that’s fresh or interesting. I forget that it’s on the air,” the actor said of his former show.

The first episode of Ashton Kutcher on ‘Two and a Half Men’ drew almost  28 million viewers last September, which clearly beat Charlie Sheen’s highest-rated episode. The said episode came in 2005, which garnered nearly 4 million viewers. Ratings have since declined, something Charlie Sheen has reveled in.

Aside from Warner Bros. and Ashton Kutcher, Sheen also took a jab at the creator of ‘Two and a Half Men,’ Chuck Lorre. The pair were involved in an angry verbal altercation that led to the actor being terminated from his $20-million-a-year starring role alongside Jon Cryer.

Sheen said, ‘I don’t think they should go past this year. I just think that people are there because there’s nowhere else to go – yet.’

And in clear criticism of Lorre, Charlie Sheen added, “I don’t think that Ashton Kutcher is working with the best writing because Chuck is doing too many shows. He and Jon and Angus deserve better material. They deserve what I had for the first five years. I don’t want to harp on them. Let the clueless remain clueless.”
