Well it seems like a Star Trek Commander has been apprehended back here on Earth! Avery Brooks, actor from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and who portrayed the role of Commander-turned-Captain Benjamin Sisko was arrested by the authorities in Wilton, Connecticut on Sunday due to suspicions of driving under the influence.
According to E! News, the 63-year-old Avery Brooks was apprehended right after the police received a complaint of a person driving erratically near the intersection of Belden Hill and Seir Hill Road. When they got to the place, the police immediately pulled Avery Brooks over and after taking a sobriety test, Avery Brooks was arrested for driving under the influence.
However, Avery Brooks was released after he was booked and a court date was set for February 9.
If the Star Trek actor is convicted, Avery Brooks might get 6 months in jail, in most states in the United States, however,first-time offenders end up with probation. It seems like this DUI arrest is Avery Brooks’ first – and we sure hope it’s the last one.
