Broadcast journalist and TV host Barbara Walters slammed the reality TV show “The Bachelor,” saying that she is deeply offended with it and that it is a “degradation to women.”
Previous reports have stated that the 82-year-old TV personality bashed the show, calling it “stupid’ and slammed the bachelor, Ben Flajnik. Barbara Walters admitted to the other panelists that she watched the finale of “The Bachelor” and found herself “deeply offended.”
“I lost an hour of the rest of my life watching the last hour of The Bachelor… I think this show is such a degradation to women,” said Walters, whose comment was surprisingly met with unexpected applause from the studio audience during her show.
The TV host also added, “It’s a crock!” noting, “Not a single Bachelor has married the women he chose in the finale!”
Barbara Walters explained that she couldn’t understand why women would want to watch a group of ladies battle each other over “an ordinary guy with bad hair.” Apparently, Walters wasn’t too taken either with “The Bachelor” guy, Ben Flajnik. She recalls the moment where Courtney Robertson told him that she was in love with him and wanted to have his children, to which Flajnik responded, “Really nice.”

Barbara Walters to The Bachelor: “A Stupid Show!”

Someone is clearly not very amused with the reality show of ABC called ‘The Bachelor.”
American broadcast journalist and TV personality Barbara Walters condemned “The Bachelor” during a “Reality Show Roundup” segment of her own show, “The View.” On Thursday, Barbara Walters said on her show that she thinks “The Bachelor” is “stupid.”
“I finally saw this show. It’s an ABC show. They may fire me,” Barbara Walters said after watching a clip from Monday’s episode. The said clip shows bachelor Ben Flajnik having a very awkward make-out session.
Barbara Walters went on, saying, “It’s a stupid show. All these gorgeous women are going after this guy who – well, I’m gonna say it – is less than gorgeous.”
And to express her disapproval even more, Barbara Walters pointed out, “All these women are mad about him. What am I missing?”
Fellow co-host Whoopi Goldberg answered, “You’re missing the fact that these women are just as creepy as the guy is.”
