According to NBC Los Angeles reports,  former “Survivor” producer Bruce Beresford-Redman was extradited to the Mexican state of Quintana Roo on Wednesday to stand trial there for the murder accusations he is facing. The former producer is accused of murdering his wife during their vacation last April 2010.

A rep for the attorney of Bruce Beresford-Redman told NBC that the ex-reality TV producer relinquished his right to appeal extradition.

Bruce Beresford-Redman is a suspect to the murder of his wife, Monica Beresford-Redman, while the couple was in Cancun for a vacation together with their two children. The couple, from Rancho Palos Verdes, went on the said vacation to try and absolve issues in their marriage, namely Bruce Beresford-Redman’s affair with a co-worker.

The body of Monica Beresford-Redman was found in a sewer pipe just a few walks away from the resort where the family was staying. According to the prosecutors, Monica Beresford-Redman appeared to have been strangled to death. Bruce Beresford-Redman reported his wife missing two days before, but statements from the hotel staff say that the couple had a “violent” altercation during their stay, which raised even more speculations of foul play on the part of Bruce Beresford-Redman.

Norma Paula De Ahlf, Monica Beresford-Redman’s friend, filed a restraining order against Bruce’s father, David Beresford-Redman. She stated in an affidavit that Monica Beresford-Redman had disclosed her concern about the feeling that the father and son were plotting something.

“Monica shared with me her concerns that Bruce and his father, David, were planning something,” De Ahlf said in the affidavit that she filed.

In addition to De Ahlf’s statement, she also said that David Beresford-Redman had approached her at the restaurant where she works and threatened her with his “hand in his shirt,” like he was carrying a gun.

The family of Monica Beresford-Redman issued a statement to NBC, saying, “After nearly 15 months in United States custody, Bruce will finally be returned to Mexico to stand trial for Monica’s murder. This day marks a major milestone in our journey to ensure justice for Monica.”
