Legendary horror writer Clive Barker, known for his works such as “Candyman” and “Hellraiser”  has been sued by his ex-boyfriend, who claims Barker gave him HIV and then kicked him out on the street.

According to reports, Emilian David Armstrong filed a lawsuit against 59-year-old Cliver Barker, whom he met in early 1996. The two moved in together immediately. Armstrong had a daughter from his previous relationship, who also moved in with the couple. Emilian David Armstrong claims that in November 1996, he was diagnosed with HIV. The lawsuit alleges Clive Barker has tested positive for HIV and hard urged Armstrong to get tested as well. Now, Armstrong is convinced that Barker is the one who gave him HIV.

Armstrong also stated in the lawsuit that Barker confessed he committed in a sexual relationship with his own cousin previously — who had AIDS — and also engaged in sadomasochism in his previous relationships which involved using syringes.

Emilian David Armstrong said that he and Clive Barker tried to save their relationship by working things out and fight the virus together, but things did not go as planned starting 2003.

The lawsuit states that in 2003, Clive Barker started to become hooked on prescription painkillers, like Percocet, Demerol, Oxycodone, and Vicodin. Armstrong alleges Barker would take this drugs together with alcohol, cocaine, and/or crystal meth and use them all for recreation.

However, Armstrong says he still did not give up on their relationship, despite the falling out of Clive Barker. He even tried to help the horror writer through his drug issues, but unfortunately, things only got worse from there. Armstrong added that Barker started having drug-fueled parties, including young men ranging from ages 19 to early 20’s.

The lawsuit also claims that in 2009, Clive Barker kicked out Emilian David Armstrong out of his house — along with his daughter — and left them down and out.

Armstrong also added in the lawsuit that he used to be a business partner of Clive Barker in his business ventures, and is entitled to a cut of all the profit. He also said that he was promised support for life.
