CM Punk slams Nike for getting Jon “Bones” Jones as endorser
August 10th, 2012 by faye
WWE superstar CM Punk is angry with Nike — claiming that the sportswear giant is sending a bad message to kids by signing UFC champion Jon “Bones” Jones as their endorser — just when he was recently convicted for being a drunk driver.
According to reports, Nike announced that the company signed Jon “Bones” Jones to a major global endorsement deal on Wednesday. Moments after the announcement was made, CM Punk took to Twitter his sentiments, writing “LEt’s reward more drunk drivers with endorsement deals! #responsibility”
While it was not confirmed that the wrestling star was referring to Jon “Bones” Jones, the UFC champ is the only high-profile athlete that recently got involved in a drunk driving case and who also had a major endorsement deal.
As previous reports have stated, Jon “Bones” Jones got convicted for driving under the influence of alcohol on May 19, where he accidentally crashed his Bentley into a utility pole.
Meanwhile, CM Punk — who does not drink nor smoke — is said to be one of the most vocal MMA supporters in the wrestling world over the last few years. He also did a lot of interviews with MMA journalist Ariel Helwani and filming Gracie jiu jitsu breakdowns for the legendary family’s YouTube channel.
At one point, CM Punk was even going to accompany Chael Sonnen to the cage for Sonnen’s UFC on Fox 2 fight in the wrestler’s hometown of Chicago, but it was ultimately shut down by Vince McMahon.
The TV persona of CM Punk depicts a straight-edge lifestyle (no alcohol, no drugs, no smoking cigarettes) and over the years, he has made it clear that his straight-edge persona is not an act, and he’s lived by that lifestyle off camera longer than he has on it.
Punk — whose real name is Phillip Jack Brooks — is a seven time World Champion, having held the ECW Championship and ROH World Championship once, the WWE Championship twice, and the World Heavyweight Championship three times.
In addition to his championships, CM Punk has also won the World Tag Team Championship together with Kofi Kingston, and the WWE Intercontinental Championship, making him the nineteenth WWE Triple Crown Champion and the man to achieve this honor fastest at 203 days. Between WWE and Ring of Honor — where he is also a two-time World Tag Team Champion — CM Punk has won a total of eleven championships. He was also the winner of the 2008 and 2009 “Money in the Bank” ladder matches (the only wrestler to win the match twice in a row), and was the 2011 Superstar of the Year Slammy Award winner.
CM Punk fires back at Chris Brown – “I don’t use steroids!”
February 23rd, 2012 by faye
The feud between WWE champ CM Punk and R&B singer Chris Brown is far from over as CM Punk just retaliated to the latest barrage of tweets from the ‘With You’ singer. Now, Punk is lashing back at Brown, claiming that Chris Brown isn’t just a liar, but a total “coward” who never truly “paid” for what he did to Rihanna.
On Tuesday night, just before the live SmackDown SuperShow, CM Punk released a video on Twitter, in response to the allegations of Chris Brown that the wrestler is a steroid-abuser with an inadequate man part. CM Punk also laid down a challenge of a no-holds barred fight for charity against Chris Brown.
“I never intended to include Chris Brown’s name in one of my tweets to start some sort of a controversy or to get any publicity or anything like that, and now that he’s thrown accusations my way about using steroids, I feel the need to reply, so please allow me to retort. I’m a life-long, proud, drug-free straight-edge individual, so Chris and I come from two completely different worlds. I don’t have a manager, I don’t have a bodyguard, I don’t need a bodyguard. I don’t have an assistant, I have no need for a PR team to tell me what to tweet or when to delete tweets, and I don’t hit women. You see, period. You don’t hit women, in my world, women are to be revered and respected, and I firmly believe that in this life there are consequences and repercussions for people’s actions, and I don’t think Chris has paid for what he’s done,” said CM Punk in the video.
CM Punk then continued, “Picking up trash on the side of a highway does not make amends for repeatedly striking a woman in the face and sending her to a hospital. So Chris Brown wants to throw stones my way now, and I say that’s fine, but put some gloves on and get in the ring. I will choke you out, and I will make you feel as weak and as powerless and scared and alone as any woman who has had the misfortune of knowing a sad cowardly little boy such as yourself. All proceeds can go to a women’s shelter of my choosing, if you want to pick up more trash on the side of a highway to make some amends, you should donate some more time, maybe tell kids that exactly what you did isn’t right.”
“But I’m also a realist, and I know that none of these things will happen because Chris Brown isn’t a man. That’s fine, I just know that someday, somewhere, somehow, somebody will put Chris Brown exactly where he belongs, and it doesn’t have to be me, I would just really like it to be,” CM Punk concluded.

Chris Brown and WWE champ CM Punk on Twitter word war
February 22nd, 2012 by faye
Despite the current controversies Chris Brown is tangled in these past few weeks, such as the disapproval of some artists and haters on his appearance and performance during the Grammy Awards 2012, as well as reports that the R&B singer’s mom is outraged due to his Twitter rants, these somehow did not stop him from engaging in a word war with WWE heavyweight champion CM Punk.
Singer-songwriter Chris Brown and WWE star CM Punk are getting at each other’s throats via Twitter. The altercation started when CM Punk reportedly tweeed a random sentence saying that he wants to “curb stomp” Brown at an upcoming WWE event because he wants Chris Brown to “fight somebody that can defend themselves.”
Apparently, the 22-year-old Chris Brown caught wind of the tweet from CM Punk, so the singer decided to fire back with an enraged message of his own, tweeting, “@CMpunk needs more followers. He’s such a leader! Not to mention the roids hes on has made it utterly impossible for him pleasure a women.”
Moreover, in his trademark sarcastic tone, Brown added, “@CMpunk contact my assistant and I’ll have em send u an autographed pic for my biggest FAN!!!”
As of the time being the word war hasn’t really gotten off the ground yet since the WWE champ CM Punk has not responded to the steroid allegations of Chris Brown, or the suggestion that his man parts don’t work, but the way things are going, people have not seen the end of this exchange yet.
CM Punk has long stated that he has never touched a drug or steroid in his life.
