David Silveria, former drummer of hard rock band Korn, has been arrested on Sunday due to suspected driving under the influence.
According to reports, Silveria was busted by the police in Huntington Beach, California, suspecting that he was driving under the influence. However, the 39-year-old musician insists that he wasn’t drunk, claiming that he suffers from insomnia and took a sleeping pill on Saturday night to help him rest. Then, when he woke up on Sunday morning, David Silveria says he didn’t realize he was too tired to go behind the wheel, which resulted in accidentally rear-ending another car on his way to grab breakfast.
The police arrived at the scene and put Silveria through a standard DUI test. It turns out that the cops didn’t detect a drop of alcohol in his system. David Silveria, however, told the cops about the popping a sleeping pill the night before, and that’s when they made the decision to arrest him for driving under the influence.
David Silveria plans to take responsibility for his actions, saying, “It was an honest mistake.”
Silveria, who is now a member of the band Infinika, played with Korn from 1993 until 2006. He then left to spend more time with his family and focus on running his sushi restaurant and steak house. According to Blabbermouth.net, David Silveria has since changed the steak house into a rock-and-sports theme bar and relinquished his 50 percent share of the sushi eatery to his ex-wife.
