Model and “Celebrity Apprentice” star Dayana Mendoza is firing back at stand-up comedian Lisa Lampanelli after the latter made a malicious racial slur during a radio interview.
According to reports, Lisa Lampanelli appeared on the radio show Sirius XM and said, “I actually would love to see Dayana giving birth. She’s a sp*c! She’s going to do it soon, anyway. She’ll be knocked up before the end of the week.”
Former Miss Universe 2008 Dayana Mendoza responded to the derogatory statement made by Lisa Lampanelli and said that the stand-up comedian is wrong and had insulted “the entire Hispanic culture.”
“I understand that it’s Lisa’s job to make fun of people for a living,” said Mendoza.“If poking fun at me can help her sell tickets to her shows, no problem, I am happy to help her put food on her table.”
Dayana Mendoza added, “However, when she uses racial slurs, she is not only targeting myself but degrading an entire Hispanic culture.”
Earlier last month, 25-year-old Mendoza told Fox News Latino how working for the “Celebrity Apprentice” has been such a wonderful experience despite her exchange of verbal altercations with Lisa Lampanelli.
“In the first episode everyone had a great time and we got a little bit of taste and flavor of what our job would be on the Celebrity Apprentice,” Dayana Mendoza said, adding “Working with everybody and working with each other that’s how we knew everybody’s work ethic.”
The model said that working side by side with her fellow Venezuelan model and actress Patricia Velásquez was a dream come true.
“It was an honor for me to be on the Celebrity Apprentice representing my community and then I heard about somebody else,” Dayana Mendoza said. “I saw this somebody was Patricia Velásquez, who is like my idol.”
