Actress Debra Messing from “Will & Grace” has filed legal docs for divorce from her husband, Daniel Zelman.

According to reports 43-year-old Messing cited “irreconcilable differences” in the divorce docs, which was filed by celebrity divorce lawyer Neal Hersh in Los Angeles Superior Court on Tuesday. Debra Messing and writer husband Daniel Zelman have spent nine and a half years of marriage.

Messing asked the judge to grant her and Zelman a joint physical and legal custody of their eight-year-old son, Roman. The actress is also asking for child and spousal support. Debra Messing continued living with Daniel Zelman in New York, even after they decided to finally call it quits.

The couple announced to the media their decision to separate December last year, but their date of separation is listed February 15, 2010. Messing and Zelman met each other at New York University back in the 1990s and were married on September 3, 2000.

Since theird parting of ways, Debra Messing has been romantically linked with her former “Smash” co-star Will Chase, who has two children from his first marriage and is in the process of getting divorced as well from Broadway actress, Stephanie Gibson.

Sources connected to Debra Messing and Daniel Zelman claims that the two are getting along well.
