The Los Angeles County D.A has reportedly declined to file charges against the 50-year-old singer. According to official D.A. documents, the drug case was rejected due to insufficient evidence. When the officers approached the two men, they recovered narcotics near the area where the singer had been standing.
El DeBarge, real name Eldra Patrick DeBarge, was then booked on suspicion of drug possession, but was later released from custody after posting $30,000 bail. The singer and the other man, Curtis Freeman, denied any wrongdoing at the time of their arrest.
His run-in with the law on Monday is the latest addition to El DeBarge’s drug-related arrest since 2001.
