Eva Longoria, Mark Sanchez split: NY Jets blamed in breakup
It wasn’t another woman that got in between the romance of NFL star Mark Sanchez and “Desperate Housewives” star Eva Longoria — it was 52 other men from New York Jets, TMZ reports.
According to TMZ sources connected to the former couple, the two decided to call it quits and parted ways because Mark Sanchez was impossible for Eva Longoria to be around because the football star was in such a bad mood over the horrible season of New York Jets.
As one source puts it, “It’s hard to maintain a relationship when one person is upset all the time.”
The New York Jets are said to be 3-4 coming off another heartbreaking loss to Tom Brady’s New England Patriots.
However, despite their breakup, the two are serious about remaining good friends and have nothing but respect for one another.
Previous reports have stated that the rep of Sanchez broke the news to Us Weekly, saying: “Mark adores and respects Eva. It really was about scheduling more than anything else. They will remain close friends.”
“He likes to go out and have fun,” the report adds, citing a Longoria source. “She’s more focused on her career and her philanthropic work.”
Eva Longoria and Mark Sanchez made headlines in New York papers for appearing around town hand-in-hand, something her close pal Mario Lopez teased her about on his magazine show “Extra.”
“Mark and I are, you know, fine. We’re happy just dating,” 37-year-old Eva Longoria said at the time.
