Reality star Evelyn Lozada has reportedly let the restraining order against estranged husband Chad Johnson expire — only two months after the former NFL player allegedly headbutted Evelyn during a heated altercation over a receipt for a box of condoms.

According to sources close to the former couple, former Miami Dolphins player Chad Johnson is due to complete his domestic violence program within the next couple of months, and he is planning to ask the judge to terminate his probation and finally lift the restraining order

Once this occurs, “Basketball Wives” star Evelyn Lozada would have to get a civil restraining order to keep Johnson away, but sources said she has decided not to because she wants to “move on.”

Previous reports have stated that Chad Johnson was sentenced to one year probation and the domestic violence program after pleading “no contest” to domestic battery following the August 11 fight with Evelyn Lozada — but since he’s completing the class early, the judge can also lift the probation early.

Despite the decision of the reality star, sources said that Evelyn she does not want to get back with Johnson.

At the time of the headbutting incident, the couple had only been married for six weeks, and just days after, Evelyn Lozada filed for divorce. The divorce was made final by a judge in Florida on September 19, 2012.

Reality TV star Evelyn Lozada has just filed for divorce from NFL player Chad Johnson, following their argument which led to the football star headbutting his wife.

According to reports, the “Basketball Wives” star filed the legal documents in Florida on Tuesday, claiming her six-week marriage with Miami Dolphins wide receiver Chad Johnson is “irretrievably broken.”

Lozada’s decision to file for divorce was triggered by the domestic violence incident over the weekend, where Chad Johnson allegedly headbutted his wife during an altercation. Evelyn Lozada said she found a box of condoms inside the car of her husband and decided to confront Johnson about it, and the two had a discussion about it, leading to the football player’s arrest after he physically assaulted the reality star. Lozada had a visible three-inch gash on her forehead when police arrived at the scene after she called for help.

“Given recent events in my client’s life, she has decided to file for divorce and move forward with her life,” Lozada’s lawyer, Michael Gilden told The News.

“I am deeply disappointed that Chad has failed to take responsibility for his actions and made false accusations against me,” 36-year-old Evelyn Lozada said in an earlier statement. “It is my sincere hope that he seeks the help he needs to overcome his troubles. Domestic violence is not okay and hopefully my taking a stand will help encourage other women to break their silence as well.”

In a 911 call released by police Monday, Evelyn Lozada can be heard in the background telling a neighbor that Chad Johnson was to blame for the assault.

“She probably is gonna need stitches,” the neighbor told the 911 emergency dispatcher after the reality star fled to his residence.

The neighbor of Evelyn Lozada called the incident a “little domestic dispute” and asked the 911 operator to “not make a big scene about it.” He also expressed concern that the NFL star was out searching for his wife.

“I don’t want him to come in here and get mad at me,” the neighbor said. “We don’t know if he’s home, or looking for her, or calmed down.”

Chad Johnson was subsequently released from a Fort Lauderdale prison on Sunday morning after posting a $2,500 bond.

In light of the divorce filing, Chad Johnson issued a statement in his website on Tuesday, apologizing for the recent events that happened.

The Dolphins wide receiver wrote, “I would like to apologize to everyone for the recent events that have occurred. I would like to wish Evelyn well and will never say anything bad about her because I truly love her to death.”

“I will continue to be positive and train hard for another opportunity in the NFL,” Johnson said in his apology. “To all the fans and supporters I have disappointed, you have my sincerest apologies. I will stay positive and get through this tough period in my life.”

Evelyn Lozada and Chad Johnson got married last July 4 in St. Maarten, and the whole wedding ceremony was recorded for a VH1 reality show — which VH1 decided to cancel.

“Due to the unfortunate events over the weekend and the seriousness of the allegations, VH1 is pulling the series ‘Ev and Ocho’ from its schedule and has no current plans of airing it,” the cable station said in a statement.

“Basketball Wives” star Evelyn Lozada has been released from the hospital after being admitted when her husband, Chad Johnson, headbutted her during a heated argument.

According to previous reports, Evelyn Lozada was admitted to the emergency room of West Side Regional hospital on Saturday night in Florida after her new husband, NFL star Chad Johnson allegedly headbutted her during an argument over condom receipts and their marriage.

Sources said that Evelyn was treated for injuries stemming from the physical argument and remained at the hospital for several hours. She was then released early Sunday morning.

TMZ sources said that the reality star is currently staying with close friends.

Meanwhile, Chad Johnson has also been released from Broward County Jail on one charge of domestic violence. The NFL player posted $2,500 bond.

Adam Swickle, the defense attorney of the football star said that a no-contact order has been issued which prevents Johnson from contacting Evelyn Lozada. Swickle then declined to comment any further.

In case he is convicted, Johnson faces a maximum penalty of one year in jail and a $1,000 fine. He might also be required to do community service or complete probation or anger management classes.

Before marrying Johnson, Evelyn Lozada was previously engaged to NBA star Antoine Walker. The former couple had a ten-year relationship, which eventually came to an end. Her courtship with NFL star Chad was documented on “Basketball Wives” and they tied the knot in Saint Martin on July 4, 2012.

The request of “Basketball Wives” star Evelyn Lozada and NFL player Chad Ochocinco to have their wedding at a Miami hotel has been rejected by several establishments.

According to reports, Evelyn Lozada and Chad Ochocinco made requests from various hotels in Miami to have their tying of the knot and reception held at their establishment, but the requests have been denied. It seems that the negative reputation of Evelyn Lozada in her reality show may be the reason behind the rejections.

It is said that Chad Ochocinco and Evelyn Lozada are currently filming their “Basketball Wives” spin-off called “Ocho and Eve” which will have a season finale featuring their luxurious wedding. However, requests from their choice of venues have been turned down by the St. Regis, The Ritz, and the Breakers. The hotels said that they don’t want to deal with fighting of any sort at their respective locations, and risk having their hotels depicted in a “bad light” on camera — especially not after several violent behaviors have been aired in multiple locations on “Basketball Wives” this season.

The reality show “Basketball Wives” began making headlines recently after one cast member, Jennifer Williams, former wife of NBA player Eric Williams, was physically assaulted with an open palm by Evelyn’s assistant. While Williams resorted to filing a lawsuit, several fans of the show took action as well by signing petitions to finally put an end to the bullying and acts of violence taking place.

One petition named “Boycott Basketball Wives and Evelyn Lozada,” has received 31,331 signatures so far on Change.org. This appeal called for the boycott of the reality show, along with the boycotting of Lozada’s spin-off show with Chad Ochocinco.
