“Bad Girls Club” star Gia Sapp-Hernandez has finally aired her side regarding the recent assault in South Carolina she was involved in. Gia claims that on the night she was arrested, she was punched in the face twice by her male accuser, and that she doesn’t remember biting anyone.
As previous reports have stated, the 22-year-old Gia was arrested in South Carolina on Friday night due to third degree assault while she was in town to promote their hit Oxygen series, “Bad Girls Club.” The reality star was also accused of biting a guy during the melee outside a South Carolina club last weekend.
However, a rep for Gia Sapp-Hernandez told TMZ that she “does not recall” biting her male accuser, but “if she did, it was done in a haze when she focused on defending herself.”
Gia’s rep explains that she had been partying with the male accuser earlier that night, when he “hinted” that he wanted to have sex with her. When Gia turned him down, she claims the guy suddenly became livid and nasty, then punched her in the face twice. Gia’s rep added that she “felt it necessary to defend herself against a man, who was obviously stronger than her,” and then proceeded to call police.
However, when the authorities arrived at the scene, Gia Sapp-Hernandez claims the officers “ignored” her accusations, choosing to believe her male accuser instead.
Gia’s rep insists the reality star is innocent, adding, “This type of behavior came about only because she was provoked. This was completely out of character for her and she apologizes if she has offended anyone.”
