A celebrity soccer match held for the benefit of UNICEF laid low profanity-prone chef Gordon Ramsay of ‘Hell’s Kitchen’ and funnyman Will Ferrell, who left the field injured- and in Ramsay’s case, on a stretcher.
According to E! News, Ramsay crashed into Teddy Sheringham during the game. Sheringham happened to be the former forward of the All England team. Ramsay was nowhere as sturdy and required a dose of oxygen on the field, which probably prevented the ‘Hell’s Kitchen’ chef from mouthing off one of the many curses he’s known for.
Gordon Ramsay was finally rushed to the hospital. A spokesperson for the ‘Hell’s Kitchen’ chef later reported that Ramsay was all right.
“Gordon was taken to hospital after injuring his back during the game,” the spokesperson informed Brit paper Daily Mirror. “He was released after receiving treatment and although he’s in pain today,” fans of Gordon Ramsay were reassured that “There shouldn’t be any long term damage” to the ‘Hell’s Kitchen’ chef.
E! News added that Will Ferrell was able to limp off on his own power near the end of the game. However, the ‘Anchorman: The Legend Continues’ star was reportedly in a lot of pain.
The charity soccer match raised more the $6 million for UNICEF. Players who proved tougher than the unfortunate Gordon Ramsay and Will Ferrell included Gerard Butler (’300,’) Mike Myers (‘Shrek,’) and Edward Norton (‘The Incredible Hulk.’)
