Actress Halle Berry has been brought to the hospital after suffering a film accident that caused her a minor head injury during a movie-shoot fight sequence.
According to reports, 45-year-old Halle Berry was treated at a Los Angeles hospital after and was subsequently released following her film accident during a movie shoot.
Meredith O’Sullivan, the Los Angeles publicist of the actress, said that Halle Berry suffered the injury on Tuesday night while she was on the set of her upcoming movie “The Hive.” She was taken to a hospital as a precaution and as also released a short time later. O’Sullivan added that the Oscar-winning actress will continue work on her new film.
Calls and emails asking for comment from Troika Pictures and WWE Studios, which are producing “The Hive,” were not returned immediately. “The Hive” is a thriller co-starring Abigail Breslin and David Otunga.
Halle Berry received an Emmy, Golden Globe, SAG, and an NAACP Image Award for “Introducing Dorothy Dandridge” and won an Academy Award for Best Actress. She was also nominated for a BAFTA Award in 2001 for her performance in the movie “Monster’s Ball,” becoming the first and, as of 2012, only woman of African-American descent to have won the award for Best Actress. Halle Berry will pay 20K child support to baby daddy Gabriel Aubry
June 22nd, 2012 by edsel
A court had decided in favor of model Gabriel Aubry by ordering ‘New Year’s Eve’ actress Halle Berry to pay her baby daddy child support to the tune of $20,000.
According to The Hollywood Gossip, the Canadian model asked a judge last month to compel his super ex-girlfriend Berry to pay him $20,000 per month in child support for their four-year-old daughter Nahla. That’s almost a quarter of a million dollars per year, as calculated by TMZ, which secured the exclusives to the scoop.
A judge apparently found merit in Aubry’s argument this Monday. It ordered Halle Berry to pay Gabriel Aubry the amount of money he claimed he needed to take care of their daughter.
And now that the child support requirement had been fulfilled, it was time for Berry and Aubry’s legal teams to move on to securing physical custody of their cute-as-a-button daughter.
The Hollywood Gossip reported that Halle Berry would like to move with Nahla Aubry to France. Berry’s fiance Olivier Martinez is a French citizen. French laws are also stricter when it comes to protecting celebrities from paparazzi, which Berry appreciated all the more after having to scream her head off at a paparazzo who got too close to her daughter at school.
Of course, given his newly-acquired monthly child support, Gabriel Aubry will certainly challenge that request through his attorney.
In the meantime, Halle Berry and Gabriel Aubry currently continue to share custody of Nahla.
Halle Berry, Gabriel Aubry custody evaluation finally out
June 6th, 2012 by faye
The custody evaluation between the legal battle of actress Halle Berry and model Gabriel Aubry has been finally written and submitted to the judge handling the case. And it seems like Halle is the better parent, making it easier for her to move their daughter to Paris.
According to reports, a psychologist custody evaluator wrote the report after having extensive interviews with Halle Berry, Gabriel Aubry, four-year-old Nahla and others. TMZ sources said that the report has issues about Gabriel ‘s ability to look after Nahala, due in part of personal issues. The evaluator did not question the affection of the model towards his daughter or even Nahla’s love for him, but the report somehow casts doubt on his ability to take responsibility for the custody and care of the young girl.
Later this month, the judge handling the custody battle of Halle Berry and Gabriel Aubry will decide the custody arrangement, if Halle will be allowed to move with Nahla to Paris, which is something Gabriel does not agree to.
Under the law of California, the judge cannot question the fact that Halle Berry is moving to Paris. He cannot tell her she is not allowed to leave, nor can he conclude that she is not serious about the matter. The judge must accept as fact that Halle Berry is moving to Paris with her daughter, Nahla.
The judge in the case must decide for the “best interest” of Nahla — being with Halle Berry full time or being with her father, Gabriel Aubry. However, given the conclusions made in the custody evaluation report, it is highly likely that the judge will decide that Nahla will get the utmost care and attention with Halle. That being said, the actress has a big chance in her bid to move to France with her daughter.
If Halle Berry is allowed to move, it might be that Gabriel Aubry will get visitation rights.
Halle Berry calls aggressive paparazzi for child custody trial
June 4th, 2012 by edsel
Andrew Deetz -the aggressive paparazzi that Halle Berry sandblasted for stalking her daughter Nahla Aubry at the kid’s school- is now her biggest weapon in her child custody trial versus ex-fiance Gabriel Aubry.
According to TMZ, the ‘X-Men’ actress is preparing to fight it out with baby daddy Gabriel Aubry in family court. Berry wants the judge to let her move to Paris. Her reason? French paparazzi are much more respectful of the privacy of celebrities and their families in comparison to their US counterparts.
The bonus? Halle Berry gets to keep Nahla Aubry away from Gabriel Aubry.
In a surprise twist, TMZ was informed by sources close to Halle Berry that her lawyer plans to call independent photographer Andrew Deetz to the stand. Deetz was the paparazzi who provoked Berry’s fury by lurking around Nahla’s school.
Andrew Deetz is known for brawling with the bodyguards of Britney Spears in Las Vegas back in 2007. Deetz claimed one of Brit-Brit’s hired muscle decked him during the brawl.
The TMZ sources said that Attorney Stephen Kolodny (the lawyer of Halle Berry) will use Andrew Deetz as a human exhibit. Deetz will be coaxed to talk about his no-holds-barred tactics when it comes to bagging pics of celebrity kids.
According to TMZ, Attorney Kolodny will also call expert witnesses from France. The French witnesses will show how French culture differs from American culture. For example, they can be expected to talk about how French paparazzi generally keep a polite distance from celebs and their families, in comparison to Exhibit A (Andrew Deetz.) The expert witnesses can also testify that French privacy laws are superior to American ones.
Halle Berry does not intend to let Nahla Aubry, 4, testify.
According to TMZ, there is no chance that Halle Berry or Gabriel Aubry will reach a settlement. The inevitable trial will be set for June.
Halle Berry: “When it comes to my daughter, I’m ferocious”
May 16th, 2012 by edsel
She’ll admit to losing her cool when she blasted paparazzi last week for flocking outside her daughter’s school, but Halle Berry won’t apologize for protecting her child. According to Gossip Cop, the actress admitted on ‘Extra’ that she overreacted to the paparazzi. “I hate that I lost my cool,” she told ‘Extra’ co-host Mario Lopez, “But you know, I’m human.”
Halle Berry went on to say, “That happens and when it comes to my daughter, I’m ferocious,” she described herself and her reaction to paparazzi. According to Berry, she had been “struggling for years” to keep her little girl, Nahla Aubry, safe from paparazzi.
“There are no laws here that protect our children [against paparazzi],” she pointed out, “And as a mom, coming to the school… not only my child,” Halle Berry commented, “But all the children that are there.”
Calling the paparazzi problem ” just wrong, wrong, wrong,” the Oscar-winning actress planned to ask for help from the most powerful man in the country.
“You know,” Berry told Mario Lopez, “I think I’m going to call Obama and say, ‘Look, can you help us?’”
Saying that, “I know this seems like a little issue right now,” Halle Berry did vouch that the paparazzi problem is “A big issue in our lives and our lives at the school and our children being protected.”
Halle Berry curses paparazzo who got too close to kid Nahla Aubry
May 15th, 2012 by edsel
‘X-Men’ star Halle Berry unleashed a veritable storm of insults on a paparazzo who came too close to her daughter last Thursday.
According to Gossip Center, Berry was accompanying her daughter, Nahla Aubry, at school when a paparazzo appeared and began taking pictures of them. Though lovely as always in a teal blue dress, Berry covered her face to keep herself from being photographed. When the paparazzo approached her little girl, the 45-year-old actress blew up. “You’re a piece of s**t!” was only one of many zingers Halle Berry dished out. “I’m doing something honorable,” she snarled at the paparazzo. “I’m not harassing people!”
Nahla Aubry is Berry’s daughter with ex-boyfriend Gabriel Aubry. The two are currently embroiled in a child custody suit over their daughter.
Halle Berry and her fiance Olivier Martinez are planning to move to France, a country with much more strict anti-paparazzi laws.
Gabriel Aubry wants $20K monthly child support from Halle Berry
May 7th, 2012 by edsel
Cleared of his child endangerment charges, Gabriel Aubry returned to court this Thursday morning to ask for $20,000 dollars a month from ex-girlfriend Halle Berry as child support for their daughter Nahla.
The Hollywood Gossip and TMZ reported that Aubry asked for that much child support in order to provide a “proper environment” in which to care for 4-year-old Nahla Aubry. He also wants the actress to foot his $500,000 legal bill.
Complicating matters for the court is the intention of Halle Berry to move herself and Nahla to Paris, where they can stay with Berry’s fiancé Olivier Martinez. Berry states that she fears for her family’s safety after multiple encounters with a stalker.
The new case didn’t get very far today, according to THG. Gabriel Aubry reportedly misfiled some paperwork, which delayed the proceedings and displeased the 36-year-old model.
Halle Berry fires longtime lawyer, hires Stephen Kolodny
March 5th, 2012 by faye
Actress Halle Berry has reportedly terminated his longtime lawyer and confidante, Neal Hersh, saying he is too much of a gentleman for the case against his baby daddy, Gabriel Aubry. According to reports, the ‘Catwoman’ star wants to go on an all-out war against her former beau and baby daddy, Gabriel Aubry. However, his longtime lawyer Neal Hersh is too much of a gentleman to wage that kind of legal war, even though Hersh has helped Halle Berry through two divorces, a custody war and numerous other legal skirmishes. Now, Berry’s new lawyer is Stephen Kolodny.
Berry and Aubry have been in court several times over the last months over the custody battle of their daughter, with child protective services stepping in at one point when Halle Berry’s nanny claimed Gabriel Aubry shoved her while he was holding their child, Nahla.
When Halle Berry fired her lawyer Neal Hersh, the actress replaced him with Stephen Kolodny, who has served Mel Gibson in his legal battle against Oksana Grigorieva. Lawyer Stephen Kolodny is said to be legendary in the Los Angeles law circle for pulling every punch necessary on behalf of his clients. Immediately after Halle Berry hired Stephen Kolodny, the lawyer headed to dependency court to have more restrictions placed on Gabriel Aubry’s time with his daughter. Gabriel Aubry is already required to have a supervisor present for his daughter’s visits, and the judge handling the case has now ordered that Nahla be returned before her 6pm visitation period ends.
In the meantime, it seems like Stephen Kolodny will have his hands full trying to convince the family law judge to move daughter Nahla to France.
