Supermodel Heidi Klum admits she is involved with her bodyguard
German model and “Project Runway” host Heidi Klum just confirmed on national television Wednesday that she and personal bodyguard Martin Kirsten are involved — but insists that she did not cheat with estranged husband, Seal.
According to reports, 39-year-old Heidi Klum had an appearance on Katie Couric’s new talk show about how “horrible” her divorce from singer Seal was. And when host Katie asked the model point-blank if she is currently in a relationship, Klum looked quite nervous.
“It just started,” the “Project Runway” host replied, adding that she does not know where it’s going to go.
Moments later, she admitted that her new relationship is, in fact, with Martin Kirsten — her personal bodyguard. Heidi Klum then said she would trust Kirsten with the lives of her own children.
“He’s a great man and recently we just got to know each other from a completely different side,” Klum noted.
Heidi Klum and bodyguard Martin Kirsten have been professionally close for four years now. Apparently, their friendship has moved to a new level.
Earlier this month, sources close to the German model claim that she and Martin Kirsten have been getting to know each other lately during trips through Italy and New York.
But Heidi Klum insisted that even if she is involved with her bodyguard now, she remained faithful and “never looked at another man” while she was still married to “Like A Rose” singer Seal.
Meanwhile, reports said that earlier this summer, Seal and Martin Kirsten got into a heated stare-down on a Manhattan sidewalk. The singer told reporters a month later that Heidi had cheated on him even before their divorce was finalized in April, showing a lack of class and “fornicating with the help.”
“He has a very unique choice of words; I’m used to them,” Heidi Klum said of Seal’s allegation. “I don’t love that. It’s obviously not true.”
The former Victoria’s Secret Angel also admitted to Katie Couric that her divorce with Seal has been painful.
“Being in all of the magazine and gossip pages,” she said, “that is definitely very hard and hurtful — and it’s hard to go through a divorce.”
In terms of marriage, Heidi Klum sounded frustrated, but still hopeful, on Wednesday’s show.
“I’m someone who believes in a fairy tale and, when I said ‘I do,’ I meant forever,” she said. “But I don’t know, you never know what happens. Life changes,” she concluded.
