One-eyed singer Houston Summers was arrested this week in Los Angeles for driving under the influence of drugs.

According to TMZ, their sources in Los Angeles law enforcement asserted that police pulled the 28-year-old Summers over for driving erratically near Malibu this Wednesday. When officers approached Houston’s vehicle -an SUV of an older make-, they detected the distinct smell of marijuana.

Sources told TMZ that Houston Summers was not coherent when officers talked to him. He was placed under arrest on suspicion of DUI, and the Los Angeles police believe he was using marijuana.

Houston was freed from imprisonment on Thursday. He did not return any calls.

Better known simply as ‘Houston’, the ‘I Like That’ singer became infamous for an emotional meltdown back in 2005 that ended with him gouging his left eye out.

The erratic Houston Summers was on drugs -specifically, PCP- when he tried to kill himself by jumping out of a window. His friends restrained him, but made the mistake of leaving Houston alone in a first-floor room that they locked. Summers got his hands on a plastic fork and used it to gouge out his own eye.

Houston Summers spent a whole year in an institution. He later said that his self-destructive behavior was caused by “the pressures of fame.”
