Ex-UFC fighter Jason “Mayhem” Miller charged with vandalism
Former UFC fighter Jason “Mayhem” Miller has been charged on Wednesday with misdemeanor vandalism after he allegedly broke into a church, stripped naked and then trashed the sacred place.
According to the charging documents from the Orange County District Attorney, 31-year-old Jason “Mayhem” Miller was slapped with one count of misdemeanor vandalism. In case he is convicted, he could face up to one year in jail, said Orange County district attorney spokesperson Farrah Emami.
In the criminal complaint, the District Attorney claims Miller “did maliciously and unlawfully deface with graffiti and other inscribed material, damage, and destroy church property … in the amount of $400 and more.”
As previous reports have stated, Jason “Mayhem” Miller was arrested on August 13 inside the Mission Hills Church in Mission Viejo. Cops said that they found the UFC fighter at the second floor of the church — totally naked and reclining on a couch, but coherent. The authorities also said that they found fire extinguisher spray on the first and second floors, broken pictures, broken windows, scattered CDs, books and glass.
Jason “Mayhem” Miller was subsequently taken to an Orange County prison and released on August 14 after posting bail.
The former UFC star is due in Orange County Superior Court on November 21st for his arraignment, where he will enter either a plea of guilty or not guilty. Should he plead not guilty, a pre-trial hearing would be set for a later date.
Calls to Miller’s reps for comments were not immediately returned.
