Mark and Jay Penske — media mogul sons of NASCAR legend Roger Penske — have been arrested by the Nantucket police on Thursday morning after allegedly breaking in at a Nantucket Yacht Club and urinating on a woman’s boots.
According to reports from the police, the incident was reported as an assault and battery when two women approached officers on Broad Street, claiming that they had been attacked by two men, who were later identified as Mark and Jay Penske.
The report claims that one of the women involved in the assault and urinating incident said that Jay Penske — the CEO of PMC media — turned and engaged his urine towards her boots when the two women pointed him out pissing on the sidewalk. Meanwhile, his brother Mark grabbed her friend’s hand and hit her in the face with it as she was trying to take a photograph.
After that, they ran towards the Nantucket Yacht Club property and police said they caught Jay attempting to run away from the club. Mark Penske was found inside the employee apartment with cuts on his arm, which he apparently suffered from falling down a flight of stairs.
Then, one of the women claimed that Jay Penske shouted, “You’re not white enough” at her as he was being detained. Mark and Jay Penske were charged with “breaking and entering in the nighttime and attempt to commit a misdemeanor.” However, the two women declined to file assault charges.
The Penske brothers spent the night at the Nantucket detention facility. Their pretrial hearings are scheduled for August 20.
Jay Penske is the owner of Dragon Racing in the IndyCar Series with drivers Katherine Legge and Sebastian Bourdais. Dragon Racing now fields Chevrolets after starting the season with Lotus engines.
