Jenna Jameson pleads “not guilty” to drunk driving charges
Former porn actress Jenna Jameson pleaded “not guilty” to charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, which resulted in smashing her vehicle into a light pole.
According to previous reports, 38-year-old Jenna Jameson entered a “not guilty” plea on Tuesday. She was arrested on May 25 by the police after she struck the Range Rover she was driving into a light pole in Westminster, resulting in minor injuries. Police officers said that the porn star showed signs of being inebriated, failed a sobriety test, and was subsequently arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. Law enforcement sources added that Jenna Jameson blew a .13 on the breathalyzer (way above the state legal limit) and even had two prescription drugs in her system — zolpidem (Ambien) and buprenorphine (Suboxone) — at the time of her arrest.
Jameson was charged with three misdemeanor counts, which includes driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, driving with a blood alcohol level over the state legal limit, and driving on a suspended license.
John Marshall Kremer, the attorney of Jenna Jameson, told the City News Service that his client declined to give any comment on the matter.
A pretrial hearing has been set for August 16. In case she is convicted, Jenna faces up to one year in prison.
Jenna Jameson — who has been called the world’s most famous adult-entertainment performer and “The Queen of Porn”– crossed into the mainstream after publishing a popular autobiography in 2004. She started acting in erotic videos back in 1993 after working as a glamour model and a stripper. In 1996, she had won the “top newcomer” award from each of the three major adult movie organizations. Jameson has since won more than 20 adult video awards, and has also been inducted into both the Adult Video News (AVN) and X-Rated Critics Organization (XRCO) Halls of Fame.
