Jermaine Dupri saves his home from foreclosure

Rapper and producer Jermaine Dupri has just saved his Georgia home from a foreclosure auction this week by paying off his mortgage debt.

According to reports, the Georgia home of 39-year-old Jermaine Dupri was scheduled for an auction on September 4th after the bank of the rapper claimed that he failed to hand over $193,404 (£120,625) on his mortgage.

However, Dupri filed an emergency motion with in response with a local court, asking for the foreclosure sale to be blocked. He insisted that he only owed $89,901 in mortgage, and that he paid the bill in full by the time he filed the motion. Now, his Georgia home was saved from the auction at the last minute.

James Kane, the lawyer of Jermaine Dupri released a statement saying, “There was no foreclosure sale of the property … We are presently working with the lender to reconcile our disagreement over the [mortgage amount due].”
