Jonathan Cheban, one of the men who run a New York City public relations firm, slammed actor Jon Hamm for trash-talking celebrity socialite Kim Kardashian.

It all started when Hamm bashed Kardashian in an interview with Elle UK, saying: “Whether it’s Paris Hilton or Kim Kardashian or whoever, stupidity is certainly celebrated. Being a f-cking idiot is a valuable commodity in this culture.” After coming under fire, award-winning actor later stated that his comments weren’t “personal” – but he insisted they were, “accurate.”

Celebrity publicist Jonathan Cheban, who also happens to be a friend of Kim Kardashian, was clearly not amused with such remarks from Jon Hamm.

“I think Jon Hamm needs to just shut up and stop being such a mad man!” Cheban said at an Ocean Drive party Tuesday night. “He needs to mind his own business, because Kim works hard. They do different things – it’s a whole different world.”

The celeb publicist Jonathan Cheban also added that Kim Kardashian is more famous than Jon Hamm and will be relevant for longer than the Emmy winner.

“Put Jon Hamm in a mall, and more people will go up to the people working at the Burger King than they will to him. Bring Kim to a mall and there will be a riot. They’re in two different businesses. Kim’s pop culture and what people like,” Jonathan Cheban said.

“It’s a lot of work, and she’s here to stay. Let’s see where he is after Mad Men.”

“Mad Men” star Jon Hamm has spoken once again about the comments he gave in Elle UK regarding celebrity socialite, Kim Kardashian. Hamm stands by what he said, claiming, “My comments were accurate.”

In recent reports, the 41-year-old Hamm referred to Kim Kardashian as a “f***ing idiot,” noting, “Whether it’s Paris Hilton or Kim Kardashian or whoever, stupidity is certainly celebrated. Being a f**king idiot is a valuable commodity in this culture because you’re rewarded significantly.”

The celebrity socialite Kim Kardashian then fired back at Jon Hamm in Twitter, writing, “Calling someone who runs their own businesses, is a part of a successful TV show, produces, writes, designs, and creates, ‘stupid,’ is in my opinion careless.”

During an appearance on “The Today Show” Monday morning, Jon Hamm firmly stood by his remarks. When asked by host Matt Lauer whether he stood by his comments about Kim Kardashian, Hamm responded, “I don’t think [my comments] were careless. I think they were accurate.”

“It’s a part of our culture that I certainly don’t identify with, and I don’t really understand the appeal of it other than in a sort of car crash sensibility. And it’s not something that I partake in or enjoy, but it is what is and here we are,” the ‘Mad Men’ actor added.

Vincent Kartheiser, Hamm’s co-star who plays Pete Campbell in the Sixties drama, jumped in the bandwagon, saying he agreed with the comments of Jon Hamm. Kartheiser said, “Our society enjoys to turn on the television and see someone who’s maybe awful and they can say, “Well at least I’m not as terrible as that person.”‘

Jon Hamm then concluded, “There are a lot of channels on the dials and those channels need to be filled up with things… It’s different strokes for different folks.”

Amidst the reports that “Mad Men” star  Jon Hamm called celebrity socialite Kim Kardashian “stupid” and “f***ing idiot,” he now clarifies the previous statement he gave about the TV personality.

“It’s surprising to me that it has become remotely a story,” 41-year-old Jon Hamm told E! News. “I don’t know Ms. Kim Kardashian, I know her public persona.”

“I would never say anything personal about anyone that I have not met,” the actor told “Access Hollywood” on Tuesday night, saying that his remarks about Kim Kardashian had been taken out of context.

“What I said was meant to be more on pervasiveness of something in our culture, not personal, but she took offense to it and that is her right,” Jon Hamm noted.

Kim Kardashian responded to Jon Hamm about his remarks, saying that although she did not know Hamm, she respected him and believed he was entitled to his opinion. However, Kim said: “Calling someone who runs their own businesses, is a part of a successful TV show, produces, writes, designs, and creates, ‘stupid,’ is in my opinion careless.”

Celebrity socialite Kim Kardashian responded to “Mad Men” star Jon Hamm after the actor called her “stupid” and “f***ing idiot.” Kardashian took to Twitter her response and said that Hamm running his mouth about things he doesn’t understand.

As previous reports have stated, in an interview with Elle UK, Jon Hamm said, “Whether it’s Kim Kardashian or Paris Hilton or whoever, stupidity is certainly celebrated. Being a f**king idiot is a valuable commodity in this culture because you’re rewarded significantly.”

Kim Kardashian took to Twitter her response to Hamm’s comments, writing “I respect Jon Hamm and I am a firm believer that everyone is entitled to their own opinion and that not everyone takes the same path in life.”

“We’re all working hard and we all have to respect one another. Calling someone who runs their own businesses, is a part of a successful TV show, produces, writes, designs, and creates, ‘stupid,’ is in my opinion careless,” Kim continued.

This isn’t the first time a leading man has slammed Kim Kardashian. Aside from Jon Hamm, English actor Daniel Craig got vocal a few months ago with virtually the same sentiment.

“Look at the Kardashians … you see that and you think, ‘What, you mean all I have to do is behave like a … idiot on television and then you’ll pay me millions?’” Craig said.

“Mad Men” leading star Jon Hamm slammed celebrity socialites Kim Kardashian and Paris Hilton during an interview with Elle magazine UK edition. Hamm called the two women “stupid” and “f***ing idiots.”

“We’re at a place where the idea of being ‘elite’ is somehow considered negative,” Jon Hamm tells the April issue of Elle UK. “Whether it’s Paris Hilton or Kim Kardashian or whoever, stupidity is certainly celebrated.”

The award-winning actor Jon Hamm added, “Being a f***ing idiot is a valuable commodity in this culture because you’re rewarded significantly. … It’s celebrated. It doesn’t make sense to me.”

Jon Hamm is the latest Hollywood celebrity to bash Kim Kardashian and Paris Hilton. Last November, “James Bond” actor Daniel Craig also opened fire on the Kardashian clan, calling them “f***ing idiots” who raked in a fortune from doing nothing.

“Look at the Kardashians, they’re worth millions. I don’t think they were badly off to begin with, but now look at them,” Craig told Britain’s GQ. “You see that and you think, ‘What, you mean all I have to do is behave like a f***ing idiot on television and then you’ll pay me millions?’”

Actor Jonah Hill added his own sentiments back in December, expressing his frustration at the reality TV trend to the Huffington Post.

“The truth of it is, I have friends who work in TV and the Kardashians get higher ratings than their TV shows – shows that people actually work hard on – writing and creating and trying to tell stories.”

The 40-year-old Jon Hamm, who plays ad executive Don Draper on the award-winning show “Mad Men,” also noted that female personalities in today’s media, like Kim Kardashian and Paris Hilton, are feeding into a warped image of what “beauty” is.

“I think Christina Hendricks is a beautiful woman, but we live in a culture where the beauty model is significantly different from Christina’s silhouette,” he replied when asked if “Mad Men” had changed America’s concept of body image.

“Those of us that have lived with and actually seen a real woman naked and made love realize there are many, many [types],” Jon Hamm concluded.
