The estranged husband of former beauty queen Kari Ann Peniche claims that their ten-month old baby tested positive for meth — and that it’s Kari Ann’s fault. Now, he is asking a judge to strip Kari Ann of custody rights as soon as possible, claiming that the “Celebrity Rehab” star poses a serious threat to their child’s health.
According to reports, Justin Williams filed the legal papers in Los Angeles County Superior Court, claiming that he took their ten-month old son to undergo a hair follicle drug test earlier this month after he began suspecting that Kari Ann Peniche was using drugs around their child. Justin Williams said that the results came back positive for meth.
In the docs which was filed by William’s attorney, Marlo Van Oorschot, he says that he was initially concerned because their baby “has a habit of sucking on Kari Ann’s hair and clothes and I became concerned that he could be affected by drug residue.”
Justin Williams added that he found evidence that Kari Ann Peniche — who has struggled with drug addiction in the past — had been using drugs again in the last two months. Now, Williams believes that their son is in danger when he is with his mother, explaining “I do not want him to continue to be exposed to smoke from meth or to accidentally ingest illegal drugs while with Kari Ann.”
Williams is demanding a judge to give him sole legal and physical custody of their son, and wants to ban Kari Ann Peniche from any kind of unsupervised contact with the child. He also wants the former beauty queen to undergo weekly drug tests. In case she tests positive for drugs, Justin Williams wants the judge to revoke her visitation completely.
Kari Ann Peniche first attended a modeling class at age 12, and modeled in South Korea at ages 16 and 18. Since her pictorial with “Playboy” magazine, she has started a fashion business, and has appeared in movies as well as in television. Peniche has been the subject of many celebrity gossip stories, including a quarrel with singer Mindy McCready, her brief engagement to singer Aaron Carter, and the leak of a controversial home video involving actors Rebecca Gayheart and Eric Dane. She is also well known to television audiences for her appearances on the first season of “Sex Rehab with Dr. Drew,” the third season of “Celebrity Rehab,” and a brief appearance on the second season of “Sober House.”
