Former TV personality Kate Gosselin has slammed her husband Jon Gosselin over poverty claims, saying he does not even have to pay child support.

According to reports, Jon Gosselin hit out on his former wife, saying that kate has a lot of money and that he does not have enough funds to keep up with payments.

On the other hand, Kate Gosselin, speaking via her lawyer Cheryl Young, argued that as of April, her ex-husband has actually been relieved of his child support.

Young told media outlet Radar Online that she was “surprised to read that [Jon] claims to be struggling to keep his child support payments current,” explaining, “As of April 27, 2012, Kate voluntarily relieved Jon of all current and future child support obligations for their eight children.”

A father of eight children, Jon Gosselin, who recently lost his job as the director of sales and promotions for Gameface International, recently told Star magazine: “I can’t afford to pay my rent and the domestic-relations staff tell me they will put me in jail unless I pay child support.”

After he posted on Twitter about his “drama-free simple life” in March, Jon Gosselin added that in case he loses his home, he will also lose custody of twins Cara and Madelyn, and sextuplets Alexis, Hannah, Aaden, Collin, Leah and Joel.

“I decided to take the high road and quit reality television and now look, I’m going to end up in jail because I can’t afford to pay child support to Kate who has plenty of money,” said the former reality star, who made complaints that maintaining a good job was difficult because people would recognize him from the series.

“I’m doing the best I can, but life is so expensive with eight kids!” added Jon.

After Jon and Kate Gosselin divorced three years ago, 37-year-old Kate continued filming “Kate Plus 8” for two seasons, before the show was cancelled.

Kate Gosselin recently became a columnist for CouponCabin, which offers budget-conscious parents helpful tips on how to keep costs down on everything — from clearance-priced back-to-school supplies to swimming pool-related expenses.

“As with everything else, I try to buy ahead, buy smart, and buy on sale,” former TV personality Kate Gosselin wrote on the blog last week.

On July 22, Kate Gosselin, who is also an avid runner, finished the three-mile Rock ‘n’ Roll Mini Marathon in Chicago in just 29 minutes and 54 seconds, alongside her CouponCabin co-workers, placing 184th out of 1,126 total runners.

The toned and tanned Kate Gosselin, who admitted that she feels “lonely” during a February episode of Dr. Drew’s Lifechangers, is looking to star on a new reality series where she will look for love, but it has yet to be picked up by a network.

“[Kate] is willing to travel around the country in order to meet Mr. Right,” a source told media outlet E! News. The source added, “She’s in fantastic shape because of all her marathon training. This feels like the right time for her.”

Meanwhile, her ex-husband Jon Gosselin does not seem support Kate’s new venture into a dating series.

“I think this is completely ridiculous! We have eight children and they need us, she is putting reality TV and dating in front of the kids who need to have their mother,” said Jon, who’s currently dating Liz Jannetta, mother of three kids.

“Why not date the old fashioned way? I know I have a lot to be thankful for, but Kate’s need to be famous is not one of them,” added Jon Gosselin.
