Former “American Idol” contender Katrina Darrell, infamously known for wearing a bikini during her audition on the reality show contest, was reportedly arrested last Friday due to suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.

According to reports, 24-year-old Darrell was apprehended by the cops just after midnight in Los Angeles on Friday for fleeing the scene of a car accident and failing a field sobriety test, with a blood alcohol level of twice the legal limit. It is said that Katrina Darrell ran a red light while driving a 2004 Toyota Camry, crashed into another car, and then allegedly tried to leave the scene of the accident. However, Katrina claims that she was in a rush to get her mother to the hospital.

Katrina’s manager, Michael Blakey, said that she was indeed taking her mother to the hospital because she had taken a nasty fall at home and was bleeding from the head. Blakey added that Katrina Darrell did not run a red light, as the cops said she did, and claims the singer-model pulled over and called 911 when she realized she had been in an accident. Moreover, Blakey claims that the former AI contestant only had a couple of glasses of wine at dinner and has no idea how she failed a sobriety test at the scene, leading to her arrest for suspected driving under the influence. Katrina Darrell’s manager said the police officers took several tries to get a reading on her breathalyser test, and only made her repeat it because “the test did not show the results that the police wanted.”

Katrina Darrell plans on fighting the charges against her driving under the influence case and her manager promises we’ll be “seeing more of Katrina and her bikini soon!”
