Dallas Cowboys linebacker Keith Brooking is facing a lawsuit due to unpaid loans amounting to $2 million from Wells Fargo.

According to reports, the NFL star who signed a three-year $6 million contract back in 2009, is being sued in federal court in Georgia by Wells Fargo who alleges that Keith Brooking and his wife Holly have shifted assets to avoid repaying the loan. The two owe $1,996,224.73, not including late fees, attorney’s fees and costs, per the lawsuit.

“Upon information and belief, beginning in 2008, K.Brooking realized he would not be able to meet his obligations to his creditors, including Wells Fargo. K. Brooking therefore acted to fraudulently transfer his individual wealth and assets, including, but not limited to, transferring real property located in Georgia, Florida and South Carolina to insiders,” the lawsuit states. The suit of Wells Fargo against Keith Brooking also stated that the NFL star planned on transferring the deeds out of his name to various “insiders, affiliates and relatives.”

The bank is asking the judge to clear a legal path so it can go after Keith’s property.

However, a rep for Keith Brooking said,”There is absolutely no evidence whatsoever to support Wells Fargo’s allegations that Keith transferred any properties … to fraudulently conceal assets.” The rep also added, “These allegations are completely unfounded and Keith is and will continue to defend himself vigorously against these allegations.”
