Everyone remembers the stripper- especially if said stripper is Mark Consuelos, and the one doing the recalling is his wife Kelly Ripa.

According to Perez Hilton, the ‘Live with Kelly!’ host confirmed the National Enquirer-spawned rumors in an interview with Vanity Fair. “A lot of hot guys in Hollywood have done that,” Kelly said before adding that “I even have an old calendar pinup of him.”

Kelly Ripa described Mark Consuelos as having just left college at the time. “He went to Notre Dame but he finished his degree at the University of South Florida,” she related. “So,” Ripa continued, “There he was in South Florida, he’s gorgeous, looking to break into show business…” According to her, Mark became a roadie to a group of guys, who then talked him into stripping.

Asked about the upcoming Channing Tatum movie ‘Magic Mike’ (which is based on Tatum’s real-life experience as a male stripper,) Kelly Ripa said that Mark Consuelos would have been perfect there. “I heard about it,” she said. “My husband knows the real guy.”

Kelly then gushed about her good-looking husband. “He is so unbelievably gorgeous,” Ripa said of Mark, “With a Mexican father and Italian mother born in Spain and raised in Italy.” She finished with a promise that, “I will never give him up.”

Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos first met on the set of recently-concluded daytime soap ‘All My Children’ back in 1995. The two played lovers, and their romantic relationship soon turned real.
