Kristin Chenoweth hospitalized after accident on “The Good Wife”
Singer and actress Kristin Chenoweth has been rushed to a hospital in New York after suffering from a head injury on the Brooklyn set of “The Good Wife” on Wednesday afternoon.
According to a source connected to the production of the CBS show “The Good Wife,” the 43-year-old actress was struck by a piece of lighting equipment which accidentally collapsed due to a large gust of wind. Kristin Chenoweth subsequently fell to the ground and then hit her head on the concrete during her fall. Someone on the set of their show placed a 911 call around 5:07 in the afternoon to report a woman who had just been hit in the head by a scaffold.
Media outlet TMZ was able to speak with a witness at the scene, who said “That area is a vortex for wind … and a big gust of wind blew the lighting off the scaffolding.”
The witness also said that Kristin Chenoweth was hit “square in the head” and appeared to be “knocked out cold.” The witness added, “I thought she was dead at first.”
Paramedics quickly responded to the 911 call and treated the actress on the set of “The Good Wife,” fitting Kristin Chenoweth with a neck brace and placing her onto a stretcher. She was then taken away from the set in an FDNY ambulance and was subsequently admitted to a hospital nearby.
According to a rep for the New York Fire Department, Kristin Chenoweth is undergoing treatment for “minor injuries” connected to her accident while on set.
This is not the first time Chenoweth was injured. Back in 2003, she also injured her neck during the pre-Broadway engagement of the musical play “Wicked.” Then, in 2006, the actress fell off an elevated section of the stage during their rehearsal of the Broadway revival, “The Apple Tree.” Also in 2011, she injured her back while on the set of TV series “Glee” when she stumbled down a set of concrete stairs.
Kristin Chenoweth, a Tony-winning Broadway star and an Emmy winner for “Pushing Daisies,” has a recurring role on the “The Good Wife.”
