Lindsay Lohan crashes into $16K lawsuit by paparazzo she sideswiped
If the recent car crash on the Pacific Coast Highway doesn’t send Lindsay Lohan back to jail for violating probation, then the lawsuit of paparazzo Grigor Balyan -who claims the ‘Liz and Dick’ star sideswiped him two years ago- might do it.
E! News reported that Lohan escaped a car crash last Sunday that wrecked her pricey Porsche and briefly sent her to the hospital. Now the lead actress of the Lifetime biopic faced a demand to pay the various medical bills of celebrity photographer Grigor Balyan.
Balyan filed a lawsuit against Lindsay Lohan back in January. The paparazzo claimed that he was trying to snap photos of Lohan outside a Los Angeles nightclub back in 2010 when he got struck by her car.
E! News obtained legal papers that stated Grigor Balyan asked for $16,468 in medical expenses. He also asked the ‘Liz and Dick’ star to compensate him for lost wages, loss of property, general damages, and property damage.
Balyan’s original suit also named Tri Star Sports Entertainment and Lohan’s driver Paola Demara as co-defendants of Lindsay Lohan. However, attorneys for Balyan are requesting that the court drop Tri Star Sports Entertainment from the complaint, ostensibly because the paparazzo might have been biting off more than he could chew.
According to E! News, the court served Lindsay Lohan with the complaint on Sunday- the same day that Lohan had an accident on the Pacific Coast Highway north of Los Angeles. The next hearing for the case of Grigor Balyan was set for August 7.
If Lindsay Lohan was worried about the new pile of legal troubles she was amassing, she didn’t show it. She returned to the set of the Lifetime movie ‘Liz and Dick’. She also recently accepted a starring role in the thriller ‘The Canyons’ with porn star James Deen as her leading man.
