Former Bad Boy Records rapper and songwriter Ma$e is in trouble with the law, because he reportedly owes a big amount of money in back taxes to the Internal Revenue Service.
According to reports, the Internal Revenue Service filed court docs in Florida against Ma$e, claiming the rapper owes a staggering amount of $124,774.85 in back taxes to the feds. This tax debt is said to have stemmed from the years 2000, 2001 and 2004.
Ma$e, real name Mason Durell Betha, retired from the music business in 1999 after saying that he got a “calling from God.” After a turn with the ministry, Ma$e returned with an album in 2004.
Ma$e was introduced as Bad Boy Entertainment’s next big artist during the summer of 1996 when he was featured on the remix to 112′s debut single, “Only You,” which peaked at number one on Billboard’s Hot Dance Singles Sales chart as well as its Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart.
