Martin Lawrence submitted paperwork on Monday asking for joint custody of his two daughters and further requesting that the couple’s assets be divided under the terms of a prenuptial agreement.

It’s been less a week after the ‘Bad Boys’ star filed for divorce from his wife, Shamicka Lawrence. GossipCenter previously reported that Lawrence cited “irreconcilable differences” in his divorce petition in the Los Angeles Superior Court.

“Martin and Shamicka Lawrence have decided to divorce,” a rep for the ‘Bad Boys’ actor informed the press. “The couple has made the joint decision to part ways.”

Martin Lawrence and his wife Shamicka Lawrence had been together for 15 years. They married at their Beverly Hills home two years ago. The couple have two daughters aged 9 and 11.

“Out of love and respect for one another we will continue to remain friends and raise our two beautiful daughters together,” the exes stated.

Martin Lawrence has acquired the services of famous Beverly Hills divorce attorney Lance Spiegel to handle his divorce. Spiegel’s long list of celebrity clients including Michael Jackson, Heather Locklear, and Charlie Sheen.

“Bad Boys” actor Martin Lawrence and his wife, Shamicka lawrence, have decided to call it quits and are now getting divorced.

According to reports, a rep for the 47-year-old actor told People, “The couple has made the joint decision to part ways.”

Martin Lawrence and Shamicka Lawrence were together for 15 years before tying the knot at their Beverly Hills home in 2010. The former couple have two children together.

“Out of love and respect for one another we will continue to remain friends and raise our two beautiful daughters together,” they said in a statement.

Martin Lawrence’s marriage with Shamicka Lawrence was the second one. He also has a daughter with ex-wife Patricia, who is now married to NFL Hall of Famer Emmitt Smith.

The comedian recently shot a sitcom pilot for CBS and wrapped a national stand-up tour.

Martin Lawrence came to fame during the 1990s, establishing a Hollywood career as a leading actor, most notably with the films “Bad Boys,” “Blue Streak,” and “Big Momma’s House.” Lawrence has acted in numerous film roles and starred in his own television series, “Martin,” which ran from 1992 to 1997.
