Rap artist Missy Elliott has filed a lawsuit against a Chicago luxury motor car dealership, claiming that her brand new Lamborghini is being held captive by the dealership.
According to reports, Missy Elliott — real name Melissa Arnette Elliott — filed legal docs in Florida where she resides, against Fox Valley Motor Cars. The rapper claims that last year, she entered into an agreement with the car dealership to buy a 2012 Matte White Lambo Aventador that is worth $376,000.
The lawsuit stated that Missy Elliott – who is repped by Singh, Singh & Trauben — agreed to give a down payment which included $30,000 in cash, plus her 2005 Bentley, valued at $85,000 to secure the Lamborghini. The car dealership reportedly agreed to ship the Lambo to the rapper by mid-year — but the fancy car never arrived.
When Missy Elliot contacted the Fox Valley Motor Cars to find out why they had failed to ship the Lambo Aventador to her, she was told that the market value of the fancy car had greatly increased, so the dealership claims that the terms of their original agreement had become null and void.
The lawsuit of the rapper added the car dealership was holding out for more money than what they had initially agreed upon and were holding on to the Lambo Aventador until Elliott meets their demands.
Now, Missy Elliott has decided to take the matter into court by filing legal papers to determine if the car dealership can, in fact, hold her extravagant vehicle. The award-winning rapper is also suing for damages resulting from the dealership’s breach of contract.
