Parminder Nagra, British actress best known for her role in the former TV series “E.R” has been sued by her soon-to-be-ex-husband James Stenson, who claims he owns half of her salary.
According to reports, Parminder Nagra, who played the role of Doctor Neela Rasgotra in “E.R” is fighting to keep her hard-earned money from James Stenson, who recently filed a lawsuit against her, claiming that they were “life partners” for six years before the former couple were formally married in 2009. During that time, Nagra and Stenson promised to share their combined wealth, Stenson claims.
The lawsuit of James Stenson claims that when Parminder Nagra landed the role in “E.R,” he consented to giving up his job as a photographer and took the role of managing their life in Los Angeles — even though Stenson was making about $300,000 per year. However, Stenson alleges that the actress was secretly planning to keep all of her wealth only for herself, and did so by setting up a shell corporation that only she had control over. James Stenson added that they bought three homes during their pre-marital relationship, but all three were purchased through the “shell” company. Now, Stenson claims that he is entitled to at least $500,000 worth of damages, as well as 50 percent of every property ever purchased through the shell company during the couple’s pre-marital relationship.
Parminder Nagra filed for divorce from Stenson in February 2012 after their three-year marriage. Reports say that during those three years of marriage, Nagra made less than she did when they were still a couple, most probably because her show was finally cancelled in 2009.
