Smash Mouth bassist Paul DeLisle and his wife have both been accused of extreme domestic violence, and both sides are obtaining restraining orders against each other.
According to reports, Mary DeLisle got her restraining order against Paul DeLisle back in December after an alleged incident in which Mary claims that the rock star “called me a ‘c**t’ and told me to get out of his house … he threatened to kick my teeth in.”
Mary DeLisle claims that Paul DeLisle has been frightening her for months, saying “He slapped me in the head and back, thrown objects at me, locked me in a closet, locked me out of the house, broken down doors to get to me, pinned me on the ground and sat on my chest, dragged me out of bed by my ankles.” Additionally, Mary DeLisle alleges that Paul also spat on her face and poured drinks on her head.
Meanwhile, the Smash Mouth star Paul DeLisle got a restraining order himself against Mary DeLisle just a few weeks ago, telling the judge that Mary “grabbed my hair and struck me with several blows, she kicked me, threatened me with a knife and tried to break my fingers.”
In his petition, Paul claims Mary “repeatedly goes for my fingers, in an attempt to render me unable to play music, which is what I do for a living.”
That same day, a judge signed off on Paul’s restraining order. The Smash Mouth bassist has since filed for divorce from Mary DeLisle.
The battling couple have a two-year-old daughter. Paul DeLisle is asking for sole legal and physical custody of their child.
