“Real Housewives” star Peter Rosello punches homeless man in the nuts
Peter Rosello — the model son of “Real Housewives of Miami” cast member Alexia Echevarria — is facing possible felony charges after he punching a homeless man in the crotch this week, then posting the video online.
According to reports, Peter Rosello, whose reality star mother Alexia infamously slammed the “lower people” of blue collar city Hialeah on “Real Housewives of Miami” last season, can be clearly identified in the video he posted on his Facebook account.
The 35-second video, which was was shot in South Beach Monday night, was titled “Hobo Gets Nutchecked!!!” Peter Rosello introduces the video by explaining to the camera that he will be “punching a hobo in the nuts.”
Peter Rosello can be seen walking up to a sleeping homeless man who was lying on cardboard boxes in the nook of a building. He tells the homeless man, “I was gonna give you five dollars,” then smashes his fist down on the man’s genitals, runs away, and jumps into a vehicle. The man utters a guttural “Ow!” as Rosello connects.
Miami Beach Police spokesman Sgt. Bobby Hernandez said in a statement that the department was made aware of the video when media outlet TMZ asked them to determine whether or not it happened in Miami Beach.
Although there were no physical indicators to confirm a location of the assault incident, a homeless resources officer recognized Gary Lee as the man in the video.
Police officers were able to locate Lee and take a sworn statement. Hernandez said if arrested, Peter Rosello will be charged with a third degree felony charge of battery on a homeless person.
“The detectives are talking to his attorney [right now] and we’re going from there,” Hernandez said, indicating Peter Rosello would be taken into custody if detectives believe there is nothing more to the incident.
Meanwhile, Peter Rosello wrote on his Facebook account in response to a question that he posted the video because “it’s funnyyyyyyyy,” adding, “im fu**ing around though. I feel bad for those people. didn’t mean to offend anyone. they got my love, i always give them like 5 bucks or weed.”
Herman Echevarria, Rosello’s politically connected stepfather, told media outlet Gossip Extra, ”It’s an unfortunate thing. But it just looks like kids playing. It’s not really violent.”
Although a full-time cast member in the first season of “Real Housewives of Miami,” self-professed “Cuban Barbie” Alexia Echevarria appears marginally this year while caring for Rosello’s brother, who suffered injuries in a serious car accident. She is also the editor of the glossy, Hispanic-Targeted Venue magazine.
