Singer and actor Raz B of the R&B boy band B2K, was severely injured in China after accidentally falling through a glass door in his hotel room, and subsequently slicing his wrist wide open.
According to reports, Raz B, who had been performing in Shanghai, China before his accident, tripped hard inside his hotel room. When he tried to break his fall , he crashed to a sliding glass door. Raz B, whose real name is De’Mario Monte Thornton, said that the broken glass caught his wrist and ripped it to pieces, tearing through ligaments, nerves and tendons … right to the bone. He lost a lot of blood due to the accident and quickly passed out. Someone else in the hotel room alerted the hotel about the accident, and an ambulance was called.
Raz B was rushed to the Huashan Hospital Fudan University, where doctors operated his hand to repair the mutilated wrist, a gruelling procedure which took nearly five hours. He was then released from the hospital on Monday. As for his four remaining tour dates overseas, they have been cancelled in the wake of his accident.
On early Tuesday, Raz B tweeted, “MAN…. Cherish life and your loved one’s. You just never know. THANK YOU LORD FOR SAVING MY LIFE,” attaching a queasy picture that shows exposed bone in his wrist as a result of his accident.
Raz B’s boy band, B2K, reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with its 2003 hit “Bump, Bump, Bump” featuring Diddy.
