Former NFL star Rodney Peete sued over holiday lights
Rodney Peete, a former National Football League star and host of “Best Damn Sports Show Period” has been hit with a lawsuit over Christmas lights worth $4,150.
According to reports, a company named Christmas Lights Guys has filed legal docs against 46-year-old Rodney Peete — Holly Robinson Peete’s husband — claiming they installed the massive Christmas lights assembly on the Los Angeles home of the couple back in 2009. The lawsuit states that Peete, a 1988 Heisman Trophy finalist agreed to pay an amount of $4,150 for the holiday lights from Christmas Lights Guys, but he never paid up.
Now, the company is going after Rodney Peete in court demanding for payment. So far, calls to the rep of Peete have not been returned yet.
Rodney Peete is a former football quarterback from the University of Southern California who played in the National Football League for 16 years. He retired back in 2004 and is now broadcasting. After his retirement from the National Football League, Peete became one of the hosts of the Fox Sports Net sports talk show “The Best Damn Sports Show Period” alongside Chris Rose, John Salley and Rob Dibble.
Peete has been married to actress Holly Robinson since 1995. The couple have four children: daughter Ryan and son Rodney Jr., twins born October 19, 1997, son Robinson, born August 11, 2002, and son Roman, born February 25, 2005. One of their twins, Rodney Jr., was diagnosed with autism at age three. He tells of his story of Rodney, Jr., in the June 2010 issues of “Men’s Health.”
