In the midst of the memorial for Michael Jackson, Ryan O’Neal would like to remind everyone not to forget the late love of his life: ‘Charlie’s Angels’ star Farrah Fawcett, who passed away after a long and brave bout with anal cancer.

The Hollywood Gossip reported that the world did mourn when they learned of Fawcett’s death. But the tragic death of the King of Pop quickly overshadowed the loss of the most famous -and brief- member of ‘Charlie’s Angels.’

So, this Monday, her long-time parner Ryan O’Neal honored her memory by donning a shirt that featured TV icon Farrah Fawcett during what many considered her finest moment.

The image on O’Neal’s shirt showed Farrah Fawcett wearing a red Lycra swimsuit in her most famous role as Jill Munroe of ‘Charlie’s Angels.’ Taken in 1976, it went on to become one of the best-selling posters in history and achieved the status of an international cultural icon. Her “Farrah” hairdo at the time also achieved international trending and remained popular well into the 80s.

Ryan O’Neal donated Fawcett’s famous swimsuit to the Smithsonian, where it was occasionally featured as part of the museum’s “popular culture” department.

Golden Globe and Emmy Award nominee Farrah Fawcett was an international sex symbol during her time. She has one child, Redmond O’Neal, with long-time partner Ryan O’Neal.

Ryan O’Neal is hoping that reliving his last days with late wife Farrah Fawcett in his new book, ‘Both of Us: My Life with Farrah,’ doesn’t drive his estranged daughter Tatum O’Neal even further away from him.

In an interview with The Huffington Post, actor O’Neal recounted his children’s varied reactions -or lack of, due to a particular O’Neal child’s lack of access- to the book. ”First of all,” Ryan O’Neal said on  the set of New York Live,’ “Redmond [Fawcett O'Neal] hasn’t read it because he can’t. He cannot deal with that yet about his mother, certainly not inside a rehab.”

Next up was Patrick O’Neal. “Patrick read it and thought it was wonderful, but was a bit uncomfortable with how honest I was,” O’Neal admitted.

“Tatum read it and gave me a six-word text that said, ‘Yeah it was okay, it’s pretty good,’” he said of Tatum O’Neal. “I wanted her to read it so we don’t start fighting again,” he continued. “I said, ‘We were getting along, and then you will read the book and I’ve lost you again.’”

According to Ryan O’Neal, parenthood was tough. Now he just wants to bring Tatum O’Neal home. ”That’s my goal now, to bring her home,” he said. “She could live with me, she’s in my house right now at the beach with the dog.”

O’Neal added that, “She has been struggling with pain medication and just recovered in a two-month rehab…” The treatment was “Very expensive, I paid for it.”

He also described Tatum O’Neal as “beautiful. She looks like she’s about 18,” Ryan O’Neal swore, “And she’s full of life and I hope that stays. I hope I can be of some service to her.”

Ryan O’Neal did make it clear that his kids were capable of handling their own issues. ”One is 49, one is 48, one is 46 and one is 27,” he said. “They should be doing their own fixing at this age.”

He added: “I’m okay with some of them… There’s one in prison,” he said. “We don’t talk too much, but the others I’m fine with.”

Written by, Ryan O’Neal, ‘Both of Us: My Life With Farrah’ is now available at bookstores.

It was a careworn Ryan O’Neal who arrived on the set of ‘Today’ show this Tuesday to open up about his “bad” parenting, his children, and the late Farrah Fawcett.

Gossip Center reported that when ‘Today’ host Matt Lauer asked if he was a bad parent, O’Neal responded, “Looks like it, doesn’t it? Sure looks like it.” The 71-year-old actor lamented that he ‘wasn’t trained’ as a father.

Ryan O’Neal added that his children are adults now. ”Griffin is 45, Tatum is 49, who’s the other one? Redmond is 27. They have to take hold of their own existences.”

In addition to drug addictions, three out of his four children have had run-ins with the law. More trouble sparked when his son Redmond O’Neal was 6. Redmond witnessed his parents arguing, and he threatened to stab himself if O’Neal and Farrah Fawcett didn’t stop fighting.

“He couldn’t stand it,” Ryan O’Neal told Lauer. “It stopped us, I must say. We put a stop to that. And we moved the knives up higher, harder to reach.”

He also talked about his book, ‘Both of Us: My Life with Farrah.’ O’Neal shared how the woman he was with for more than 30 years was insecure at times. Farrah Fawcett would reputedly spend many hours staring at herself in the bathroom mirror over the years.

“Well it was possible she was just trying to keep away from me and stayed in the bathroom, I don’t know,” Ryan O’Neal admitted. “We were all in the bathroom for too long.”

He also said that his wife Farrah Fawcett was “so strong and brave and never afraid for a minute. She always believed she’d be here on the show with us today. Now it’s just me.”

Farrah Fawcett died of cancer in 2009. She and Ryan O’Neal never married.

Ryan O’Neal himself has been diagnosed with prostate cancer. However, he has not started treatments.

Actor Ryan O’Neal, best known for his breakthrough performance in the 1970 classic movie “Love Story” and more recently for his appearance in the ABC nighttime soap opera “Peyton Place,” has been diagnosed with prostate cancer.

According to reports, 70-year-old Ryan O’Neal released a statement to “People,” saying “Recently, I was diagnosed with stage four prostate cancer.” He added, “Although I was shocked and stunned by the news, I feel fortunate that it was detected early and according to my extraordinary team of doctors the prognosis is positive for a full recovery.”

“I am deeply grateful for the support of my friends and family during this time, and I urge everyone to get regular check-ups, as early detection is the best defense against this horrible disease [prostate cancer] that has afflicted so many,” O’Neal advised.

This is not the first time Ryan O’Neal has battled cancer. During the late 1990s, the actor was treated for myelogenous leukemia, a form of the disease in which bone marrow produces too many white blood cells.

The prostate cancer diagnosis is sure to be particularly poignant for Ryan O’Neal after losing his longtime on and off partner Farrah Fawcett to anal cancer at the age of 62 in 2009. The event is said to be what caused he and daughter, Tatum, to attempt to make amends from the rift that had kept them apart for so long – an attempt that has since been unsuccessful.
