“Dancing With the Stars” contender Sherri Shepherd is denying allegations emerging that she has been cheating on the reality TV contest by practicing since January and thus, giving her an unfair advantage.
According to the reports, the host of “The View” was accused of having been secretly practicing with series regular and dance pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy since December which is not allowed as per the show’s guidelines. On Thursday, Sherri Shepherd kicked off her show by denying all of the cheating allegations.
The 44-year-old is set to begin rehearsing next week. RadarOnline leaked the story that Shepherd had actually begun rehearsing their dances since January. They had her partnered with Chmerkovskiy when in reality she will be paired with his brother, Val, on “Dancing With The Stars.” Sherri Shepherd slammed the rumors on her show by stating, “We have never, I say never, we’ve never danced together,” Shepherd said as she admitted that she was nervous. “I’ve never danced with Maks, I’ve never danced with Val.”
The actress and comedienne did admit to being hooked on dancing and confessed that she had taken some classes at Maksim’s studio, which she claims was done even before “Dancing With The Stars” negotiations came to ask for her participation on the show.
RadarOnline reported that an unnamed source had actually witnessed Sherri Shepherd in workout gear and dance shoes at the SoHo Studio and that Maksim was present at the time.
According to the rules of “Dancing With The Stars,” dance training actually begins after the show makes all of the announcements as to the participants for the season, along with whom their coaches will be.
In the meantime, Shepherd just wants to quiet down the rumors and move on with the task at hand, which is trying to beat other contenders. “I’m just looking to have a good time,” Sherri Shepherd said on ‘The View.’ “I’m praying my wig doesn’t fall off.”
