“Real Housewives of Orange County” star Slade Smiley has been humiliated at a recent red carpet event because he reportedly failed to pay child support to his baby mama. Now, he is threatening legal action for the verbal assault he experienced.

According to reports, a man verbally attacked Slade Smiley and Gretchen Rossi at an event, accusing the reality star of being $160,000 in arrears on his child support to his sick child, Grayson, with baby mama Michelle Arroyo. Now, TMZ reports that Smiley is “considering legal action against his ex-girlfriend, Michelle Arroyo, for allegedly staging an angry public confrontation between Slade and a child support bill collector on Thursday night.”

The attorney of Slade Smiley released a statement about the child support verbal assault against him, saying, “Slade is not a deadbeat dad and is making timely payments. We will be looking into this further and if Miss Arroyo did hire these clowns to harass Slade we will exercise all our rights including a restraining order if necessary.”

The attorney added that Michelle Arroyo is denying Slade time with his child, Grayson, an 11-year-old boy diagnosed with cancer. Arroyo says Slade Smiley is now paying her $775/month, but claims he’s still $95,000 behind.

In reference to the verbal assault, the attorney of Slade Smiley said, “It appears this whole thing was staged and created by Miss Arroyo who is obviously looking for attention.”
