Suge Knight, a.k.a Big Suge will be in Las Vegas court on March after he was arrested by the police due to a traffic warrant, and in addition to that, he is also facing a misdemeanor drug charge.

According to Officer Laura Meltzer, rap music mogul Suge Knight  was pulled over at around 5:30 in the afternoon on Wednesday. Suge Knight was driving his black Bentley, bearing California license plates on a street just off Flamingo Road, west of the Las Vegas Strip.

Suge Knight was issued an unsafe lane change summons and arrested on a warrant stemming from minor traffic violations recently. What’s more, Suge Knight is also facing a misdemeanor drug charge after the police searched and caught him in possession of less than one ounce of a controlled substance, but was eventually released from jail without bail. The controlled substance, according to TMZ reports, was marijuana.

On March 12, Suge Knight will be due in Las Vegas Municipal Court for the traffic violation and misdemeanor drug charge. Court spokeswoman Jill Christensen said Suge Knight was sought on a March 2009 warrant because of a failure to appear on three traffic violations: following too closely, failure to surrender a suspended license plate, and being a non-resident driving on a revoked driver’s license. The original charges are from a traffic stop in November 2008.

Suge Knight’s attorney, David Chesnoff, is currently travelling and has not commented on the arrest of Suge Knight due to traffic violations and misdemeanor drug charge. He also said that he had not spoken with Suge Knight yet.

David Chesnoff was the same attorney who represented Suge Knight when his felony drug and battery charges were dropped in December 2008. It was reported to have been followed by an incident where Suge Knight was accused of physically assaulting a woman with a knife at a parking lot near the Strip. Additionally, Suge Knight was also charged with felony possession of the drugs Ecstasy and hydrocodone. David Chesnoff said at the time that prosecutors had a difficult time collecting evidence and witness accounts.

Suge Knight, real name Marion Knight Jr., once played football for the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He then went on to co-found Death Row Records, which helped rappers such as Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg and Tupac Shakur rise to fame.

Suge Knight was at the wheel of a car in which Tupac Shakur was murdered back in 1996 in Las Vegas. Death Row records eventually went bankrupt and was sold.
