Demi Lovato proves so popular in South America that she had to halt her Paraguay concert on Thursday when overeager fans ran on stage to hug her. Gossip Cop reported that the sweet-tempered Lovato agreed to let the audience come closer so that they could get a better seat. The ‘Hannah Montana’ fan also warned them to “be safe.”
But one of her enthusiastic Paraguayan fans couldn’t help himself. He ran up to the startled 19-year-old Demi Lovato and threw his arms around her for an abrupt hug.
Security raced other fans onto the stage while the ‘Catch Me’ singer slipped away backstage. Later, with security still trying to restore a measure of calm in the restive Paraguayan fans, Demi Lovato returned to the stage and asked the audience to “chill out.”
This wasn’t the first time Demi Lovato got mobbed by her overzealous South American fans. A similar scene played in Venezuela earlier this month.
