“Jersey Shore” star The Unit — friend of reality star Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino — has just struck a deal with prosecutors for his drug charge, therefore making him avoid jail time.

According to reports, The Unit — whose real name is John Manfre — has agreed to plead guilty on Thursday to a lesser offense of “disorderly persons offense” if the prosecutors will drop his drug charge, which they did. The Unit was also ordered to pay a fine of $125. The reality star was initially charged with drug possession.

Previous reports have stated that John Manfre was arrested last summer outside the “Jersey Shore” house at Seaside Heights on July 24, 2011 for felony drug possession. The police officers found him in possession of Special K — the street name for Ketamine, a drug that is used mostly as a horse tranquilizer.

Attorney Raymond Raya, the lawyer of the “Jersey Shore” reality star, initially challenged the circumstances of the drug arrest, claiming that the off-duty police officer who arrested The Unit could not prove he had his consent to search him.

Raya said on Thursday that his client is relieved to know that he will not have a felony on his record.

The reality star said, “I feel blessed to have such a fortunate outcome and thank my attorney, Ray Raya, for his great work.”
