Tommy Lee sued over roller coaster drum stunt
Mötley Crüe founding member Tommy Lee is being sued by a man who claims to be the original one who invented the roller coaster drum solo stunt, saying that the glam metal rock star stole his idea.
According to reports, Los Angeles-based engineer Scott King filed the lawsuit in Los Angeles County Superior Court against Tommy Lee, claiming he approached the Mötley Crüe drummer back in 1991 with an initial design for a drum-roller coaster for his concerts, but his idea was shot down. Last year, Tommy Lee was seen using the same design for his band’s tour.
Now, Scott King is suing the rock star for stealing his idea, demanding at least $400,000 in damages.
Previous reports have stated that King initially sent Lee a legal letter, promising to file a lawsuit against him if he is not compensated.
The attorney’s of Lee reportedly responded to the letter of Scott King, claiming that the engineer’s allegations are false.
