Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker believes that the Los Angeles Police Department officer who pulled him over, immediately labeled him as a gang member ferrying drugs and carrying weapons, claiming that this is the second time he has been “profiled” by law enforcement.

According to reports, 36-year-old Travis Barker was on his way to pick up his daughter in Los Angeles on Wednesday, when he suddenly got pulled over for not having a front license plate on his custom Chevrolet.

The rep of Travis Barker said that after taking a look at the rock star, police “then accused him of having drugs and weapons in the car.”

Moreover, Barker was also accused of having gang ties, and was subsequently asked to have his vehicle searched by the police officer — which the drummer allowed him to do.

Barker’s rep added that the drummer eventually got off with a fix-it ticket, but that he is still annoyed because a similar incident happened about a year ago, when a Los Angeles Police Department officer slapped him with a ticket for not having license plates and tinted windows.

Travis Barker believes profiling is not okay, but acknowledges that not all police officers do it.

Media outlet TMZ spoke with a Los Angeles Police Department rep who declined to comment on the profiling accusation made by Travis Barker. However, the rep did say the drummer is welcome to come in to any station to sit down and talk about the situation.

Barker is famously known as the drummer for the American pop punk band Blink-182, as well as the alternative rock band +44, the rap rock band The Transplants, and the alternative rock band Box Car Racer. He was a frequent collaborator with the late DJ AM, and together they formed TRV$DJAM.

After the split of his first band, Feeble, Travis Barker began playing for The Aquabats in 1996 as The Baron Von Tito. He recorded one album with them, “The Fury of The Aquabats!”, in 1997. His career took off when he joined up with punk band Blink-182 in 1998. He has since established himself as a versatile drummer, producing and making guest appearances in music projects of numerous music genres including hip hop, alternative rock, pop and country. He has gained significant acceptance within the hip-hop community in particular and often collaborates with artists to compose rock-tinged remixes to their songs.

Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker had a head tattoo of the logo for his side project band “The Transplants” imprinted at the back of his head, TMZ reports.

The 36-year-old Travis Barker recently put the final touches on his head tattoo, a masterpiece that was done by one of the more famous tattoo artists around, Mister Cartoon.

Travis Barker apparently feels very committed to the punk rock/rap group these days, despite the fact that it is really just a side project for all its members – a possible reason for his head tattoo of the side project band’s logo. Rumor has it that they have a new album coming out soon.
