Prominent wedding dress designer Vera Wang has already separated from her husband of 23 years, Arthur Becker.

According to reports, Wang and Becker announced on Wednesday that they were splitting. “Vera Wang and Arthur Becker have mutually and amicably agreed to separate. They remain devoted parents to their two daughters, Cecilia and Josephine,” Mario Grauso, Wang’s company president said in the statement.

Vera Wang and Arthur Becker tied the knot at the Pierre Hotel in New York back in 1989, when Wang was the design director at Ralph Lauren. As of the moment, it is still unclear if either party has filed divorce papers yet. Reports said that the 63-year-old designer is estimated to be worth hundreds of millions of dollars, which may lead to a complicated divorce.

It is said that one item that might be a source of tension is the $10 million glass-walled home Wang bought in Los Angeles last year.

Wang, who opened her signature salon at the Carlyle hotel, was being convinced by Arthur Becker to embrace the mass side of the business, reports stated. Becker was a part of the various ventures of the designer, which include bridal, high and lower-end fashion, home goods, makeup and fragrances. The company is said to be operating under the two camps of Wang and Arthur Becker. However, a friend told a fashion publication that the two “will not let this impact the running of the company. They have worked too hard to build it up.”

Vera Wang created three wedding dresses for celebrity socialite Kim Kardashian’s wedding to Kris Humphries, as well as gowns for her sister Khloe Kardashian’s nuptials to Lamar Odom.
