The lawyers of Wayne Newton denied all allegations of animal abuse, mismanagement, and sexual harassment leveled against Mr. Las Vegas and filed counterclaims of their own against the accuser.
According to The Huffington Post, a former business associate of the Las Vegas crooner earlier filed a lawsuit against Newton two weeks ago. The lawsuit alleged that the company bought rights to convert Casa Shenandoah -Newton’s Las Vegas, Nevada home- into a tourist attraction, only for the star to deliberately obstruct the conversion.
The ex-business partner also accused Wayne Newton of sexual harassment of a young female employee, whom he reportedly kissed a lot without her permission.
The Huffington Post reported that Newton’s own legal team filed counterclaims in Nevada state court on Wednesday. The countersuit stated that the allegations of sexual harassment, mismanagement, and animal abuse were ”scurrilous and scandalous.” The lawyers of Wayne Newton proceeded to accuse the ex-associate of breach of contract and fraud.
According to a report by the Associated Press, attorney Bryce Kunimoto expressed confidence that the court will vindicate the legendary crooner and his family. Attorney Kunimoto explained that the heart of the legal dispute with CSD LLC, CSD Management LLC, and DLH LLC was business.
Both Wayne Newton and his accuser will appear before a Clark County District Court judge this Thursday. The judge will rule on on a a restraining order sought out by Newton.
