The mugshot of “Puddle of Mudd” frontman Wes Scantlin has been finally released, following his recent arrest after fighting with a flight crew.

With bloodshot eyes and a half-cocked smile, 40-year-old Wes Scantlin posed for the police camera on Tuesday after he was taken into custody by the authorities after having a nasty verbal altercation with a flight attendant on a Los Angeles-bound plane.

As previous reports have stated, a JetBlue flight bound for Los Angeles made an emergency landing in Bergstrom International Airport in Austin, Texas, on Tuesday after Wes Scantlin allegedly engaged in a heated, drunken argument with a flight attendant. Sources claim that the fight erupted when the singer became “upset because the flight crew wouldn’t sell him booze.”

Once the plane touched down in Texas, Wes Scantlin was arrested by the police for public intoxication. He could also face jail time for interfering with a flight crew, which is considered as a federal crime.

The Puddle of Mudd singer is due in court in Austin on October 3rd for his public intoxication case, when he’s scheduled to be arraigned.

This is not the first time Scantlin has been in trouble with the law this year. Back in July, he entered a “guilty” plea to felony cocaine possession. Media outlet TMZ reported that a judge agreed to clear the singer’s record in 18 months — providing he “obeyed all laws.”

According to reports from the Austin Police Department, they were notified of an “unruly” passenger aboard a JetBlue airliner from Boston that was bound for Los Angeles. It turns out that 40-year-old Wes Scantlin got into a verbal altercation with a flight attendant after the allegedly crew refused to sell him more alcohol

The flight which was originally bound for Los Angeles was re-routed to Bergstrom International Airport in Austin for an emergency landing. A rep for the Austin Police Department said that this was where the singer was booted from the plane. Wes Scantlin was subsequently arrested and booked for public intoxication at the Travis County jail, where he remains behind prison bars. Reports said that he could also face federal charges later due to interfering with a flight crew.

This is not the first time Wes Scantlin had a run-in with the law. Last July, the “Blurry” singer entered a “guilty” plea to felony cocaine possession. As part of his plea deal, Scantlin’s record would be cleared in 18 months, if he stays out of trouble and completes drug counseling — a condition which he may have just violated due to his recent arrest in Texas.

In case Wes Scantlin is proven to have caused a mid-air disturbance, he could face jail time for the cocaine charge, as well as for public intoxication and interfering with a flight attendant.

Previous reports have stated that Scantlin has already completed his divorce from ex-wife model Jessica Nicole Smith in May. He also reportedly owes $60,000 in back taxes to the Internal Revenue Service.

According to previous reports, 40-year-old Wes Scantlin was pulled over by the cops on January 12 in Los Angeles and showed signs of being intoxicated. He was then charged with felony cocaine possession in April following his arrest. The singer was also charged with two misdemeanors: driving without a license and driving under the influence of a controlled substance.

Scantlin reportedly pleaded guilty to the cocaine possession charges, but was able to have his misdemeanor charges dropped entirely. The singer also avoided prison time for his cocaine charges. His judgment was deferred for 18 months and was ordered to enroll in a drug counseling program by the 8th of August. If Wes Scantlin completes this rehabilitation program, the felony cocaine possession may be dropped.

This is the latest addition to Scantlin’s episode of legal proceedings. Recently, the singer finalized his divorce after his former wife attempted to have their prenuptial agreement set aside — but to no avail. Wes Scantlin then signed his official divorce paper with two smiley faces.

According to reports, 40-year-old Wes Scantlin agreed to fork over $2,500 a month in alimony to ex-wife Jessica Scantlin, whom he was married to for four years. Originally, former Mrs. Wes Scantlin wanted half of the money the Puddle of Mudd frontman had built-up after 20 years with his band, but then subsequently withdrew her request. Jessica and Wes then came to an agreement about an asset management split that worked for both of them. The former lovebirds had a prenuptial agreement in place which explains why Jessica Scantlin decided to retract her decision of asking for a 50/50 claim.

Learning about the smiley faces Wes Scantlin made on the divorce papers, Brian Kramer, lawyer of Jessica  Scantlin told TMZ, “It’s most definitely the first time in all my years of doing this work that I’ve have had an opposing party sign with a smiley face on a divorce decree imposing maximum spousal support.”

Kramer added, “It’s certainly a refreshing change to see an artist who is cheerful about honoring such an obligation instead of treating it like it were the end of the world.”

The exact terms of the divorce settlement have not been released to the public.

It really is rough going these past few months for Puddle of Mudd frontman Wes Scantlin. Back in November 2011, Wes Scantlin filed for divorce from his wife, Jessica Nicole Scantlin. Then in December, the IRS was reportedly pursuing him for a sum of money amounting to more than $60,000 in back taxes, and to top it all of, Wes Scantlin was arrested by the authorities for drug possession of a controlled substance last month.

Based on the police report, it was in January 12 when Wes Scantlin was pulled over by the cops in Culver City, California due to an unknown traffic violation. After that, sources claim that Wes Scantlin exhibited signs of being intoxicated, so he was searched by the authorities and was found in possession of a controlled substance, namely pill and powder combination. The 39-year-old Wes Scantlin was then booked for felony drug possession but was also released  a few hours later after posting the $10,000 in bail.

Wes Scantlin did not give any comments yet regarding his drug possession arrest last January.

Puddle of Mudd’s last album was their collection of cover tunes called “re:(disc)overed” which was released back in August of 2011.
