Bobbi Kristina Brown snubs June wedding of her dad Bobby Brown
June 28th, 2012 by edsel
The June 18 wedding of Bobby Brown and Alicia Etheridge was marred by the absence of the groom’s daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown.
The Hollywood Gossip reported that the only daughter of the late Whitney Houston was known to hate her father. Bobbi Kristina even contemplated a name change at one point to increase the distance between them.
A source informed Us Weekly that Bobby Brown tried to reach out to his estranged daughter through a “go-between.” He asked Bobbi Kristina to attend his new nuptials because he wanted to be at peace with his daughter. But according to the Hollywood Gossip, Bobbi Kristina “told them she was not going because she did not like Alicia.” The troubled teen also declared that “she was [busy] filming her reality show with Pat Houston in New York” and wasn’t able to attend the wedding of Bobby Brown even if she wanted to.
The Us Weekly source also claimed that Bobbi Kristina Brown and her aunt Pat Houston have grown very close. The sister and former manager of Whitney Houston was “trying to act like a mother figure” to Bobbi Kristina.
“Pat does not like Bobby Brown,” the source said. Whitney’s sister was reportedly “pleased that Bobbi Kristina did not go to the wedding” of her father. Pat Houston supposedly felt that Bobbi’s father “will always try and take advantage of her.”
The Hollywood Gossip reported that the tragic death of Whitney Houston on February 11 catapulted her daughter into the spotlight. Bobbi Kristina broke down so badly after her mother died that she needed to be rushed to the hospital on numerous occasions.
“She was really her mom’s caretaker,” the Us Weekly source said of Bobbi Kristina Brown, “And biggest cheerleader and biggest fan.” The source expressed uncertainty at how Bobbi “will be able to go on” without Whitney Houston.
Ray J finds lost designer clothes thanks to Whitney Houston associates
June 1st, 2012 by edsel
Mere hours before TMZ reported that Ray J was being sued for losing borrowed designer clothes in the room of Whitney Houston the day before her death back in February, the singer found the said clothes.
In an exclusive report posted by TMZ on Wednesday, an L.A. stylist named Marc Littlejohn filed a lawsuit against Ray. The singer reputedly hired the stylist to help him suit up for a Grammy event. Littlejohn lent Ray $2,880 worth of designer threads. The pricey fabrics include two suits and one jacket.
According to legal documents, Littlejohn claimed that Ray J left the designer clothes in the Beverly Hilton hotel room where Whitney Houston died. The lawsuit claimed that the articles disappeared after Houston’s death. Littlejohn asked that Ray either find and return the missing designer threads, or pay him $2,880.
On Wednesday, a representative of Ray informed TMZ that the mystery of the missing designer clothes had already already solved on Tuesday, rendering the TMZ report amusingly outdated even before it was published.
According to the rep, an associate of Whitney Houston delivered the designer clothes over to Ray J. TMZ sources said that the items joined the rest of Whitney’s belongings when her family cleared the room following Houston’s tragic death.
The same sources informed TMZ that the associates of Whitney Houston could not immediately contact Ray J about the lost-and-found designer clothes because he changed his phone number.
Tyler Perry: “Please stop lies” that Bobbi Kristina Brown quit show
June 1st, 2012 by edsel
Tyler Perry sounded ready to take Madea’s gun to RadarOnline for claiming that Bobbi Kristina Brown walked off Perry’s new show.
According to Gossip Cop, webloid RadarOnline alleged that Bobbi Kristina “has walked off her new TV show, ‘Tyler Perry’s For Better or Worse.’” In a supposedly exclusive report, RadarOnline claimed that the aspiring actress “quit the TBS comedy a few weeks ago” because she was still grieving over her late mother Whitney Houston.
A RadarOnline “insider” alleged that Bobbi Kristina Brown “walked off the set” of ‘For Better or Worse’ “so quietly that barely anyone noticed.” According to the site, it was a “fast exit for the troubled teen.”
“She thought she was ready for this,” another supposed source of RadarOnline was quoted as saying, “But she wasn’t.”
In came Tyler Perry himself to defend the daughter of Whitney Houston. Gossip Cop reported that Perry slammed the RadarOnline claims in a blog post on Wednesday.
“NOT TRUE AT ALL PEOPLE!!!” Perry thundered. “There is no way that she could have walked off the set,” he rebuked, “Because we have finished taping the season.”
In the blog, Tyler Perry talked about meeting with Bobbi Kristina Brown after the funeral of Whitney Houston. There was “no better way for me to help her move through the grieving,” Perry explained on his blog post, “Than by giving her something to focus on.”
Perry acknowledged that there were “tough days for her” on the set of ‘For Better or Worse’. However, Bobbi Kristina “managed to finish her obligation and did a great job at the same time,” Perry stated.
The Atlanta-based Madea mogul proceeded to chew out the media for taking advantage of Bobbi Kristina. “PLEASE LEAVE THIS BABY ALONE!!!!” he wrote. “AND SHE IS A BABY!!!” Tyler Perry added.
In a calmer tone, Tyler Perry called for the media to “Please stop the lies.” Perry urged that Bobbi Kristina Brown be given “some room to breathe and grieve.”
Ray J gets sued for missing designer clothes in Whitney Houston room
May 31st, 2012 by edsel
It seems Whitney Houston is really haunting supposed former boyfriend Ray J, as Ray is now being sued for expensive clothes that allegedly went missing inside Whitney’s room the day before she died.
According to TMZ, L.A. Stylist Marc Littlejohn recently filed a lawsuit against the alleged boyfriend of the late Whitney Houston. The stylist claims that Ray J hired him for wardrobe styling services on February 10 for a Grammy-related event.
Littlejohn allegedly lent Ray J expensive articles of clothing to try on. The stylist then alleged that all the borrowed duds were in the Beverly Hilton hotel room of Whitney Houston before the day she died. According to the lawsuit, the pricey clothes disappeared after Whitney died.
Rumors alleged that Ray J was romantically linked with Whitney Houston during her last days. He also reportedly saw the diva shortly before she died. Ray and Houston’s family have slammed those rumors as untrue.
As has been reported by TMZ and other sources, police swarmed over Room 434 at the Beverly Hilton in search of any evidence of foul play in the death of Whitney Houston. The coroner declared that Houston died from a combination of drowning, heart disease, and long-term use of cocaine.
TMZ reported that Marc Littlejohn is now suing Ray J for $2,880. The stylist claimed that he has repeatedly reached out to both the singer and his mother/manager to recover the clothes or be paid.
Ray J has just recently been released from the hospital. The singer was found unconscious in his hotel room by model Sophie Monk after a post-Billboard Music Awards party. He was treated for exhaustion related to jet lag and had reportedly run the risk of a fatal blood clot in his respiratory system.
Whitney Houston estate requires trained professional, not Pat Houston
May 25th, 2012 by edsel
Insiders warned that the family of Whitney Houston should put a professional in charge of the late singer’s estate to avoid the risk of a family feud ruining it.
According to The Huffington Post, the estate of Whitney Houston can continue to earn money for years after her death. Citing the example of the estate of Houston’s good friend Michael Jackson, insiders also warned that leaving a family member in charge could be a bad idea.
“If Michael’s estate had left control to a family member,” a music manager told The Huffington Post, “It would have been a disaster.” The matter of running the estate of Whitney Houston required handling by “trained professionals and lawyers,” said the Metro source,
“Not someone that married your brother.”
The source was actually referring to Whitney’s sister-in-law, Pat Houston, who also served as her manager.
During the Billboard Music Awards this Sunday, Pat Houston took the stage next to Bobbi Kristina -the only daughter of Whitney Houston- when the latter accepted a Millennium Award on behalf of her late mother.
Perez Hilton reported that Pat Houston supposedly wanted to be the one who accepted the award. BMA producers reportedly compromised by letting Pat accompany Bobbi Kristina.
Pat Houston is also the prime mover behind the Lifetime reality show ‘Houston Family Chronicles,’ which intended to help the singing career of Bobbi Kristina. The reality show will also feature Pat’s daughter, Rayah; Whitney’s Gary Houston; and Whitney’s mother Cissy Houston.
“After years of being in the shadows,” a Houston family source told Metro, “This seems to be Pat’s moment in the spotlight.” The source also warned that Pat Houston “needs to be careful about what she wishes for. As Whitney knew too well,” the source cited, “Being famous and all that it brings isn’t always good.”
Whitney Houston died in February of this year while preparing for a possible comeback.
Whitney Houston family reportedly clashes with Ray J during Billboard
May 24th, 2012 by edsel
The family of Whitney Houston deeply appreciated the touching Billboard Music Awards tribute- but they didn’t appreciate having to sit beside R&B singer Ray J.
E! News reported that Bobbi Kristina accepted the Millennium Award at the 2012 Billboard Music Awards on behalf of her late mother, who passed away three months ago.
“Thank you so much for showing that much love,” Bobbi Kristina told the assembled admirers of Whitney Houston. “Because she deserved it… There will never be another one, ever,” she said in honor of her mother’s musical success.
But the situation reportedly got sticky, according to an E! News source, when the family of Whitney Houston ended up sitting in the same area as Ray J, who was reported to be Houston’s boyfriend at the time of her tragic death
The Houstons supposedly attempted to have Ray J arrested. And according to the insider, cops did indeed arrive at the scene, though no arrests were made.
Ray J did not comment on the allegations of friction with the family of Whitney Houston. However, a rep for the Houston family denies the insider’s account of the evening.
“Completely untrue,” the rep said about claims that the Houstons attempted to get the singer cuffed during the Billboard Music Awards. ”They were there to honor Whitney,” the rep insisted. “That was the only focus they had for the evening.”
Dismissing Ray J, who “wasn’t even a thought,” the rep said that “Billboard Awards did all the seating and the Houstons never had any issues of any kind.”
The opinion of another E! News source was that Ray was, indeed, asked to move. But it was the Billboard Music Awards team, and not the family of Whitney Houston, who approached him. The reason: He got the wrong seat.
A third source told E! News that the family of Whitney Houston was allegedly “100 percent” behind ousting Ray J from the Billboard Music Awards event, with Whitney’s sister-in-law Pat Houston the most adamant about it. According to this third source, the family’s security team finally dissuaded them.
This isn’t the first time Ray J needed to defend himself after the death of Whitney Houston. Bobby Brown’s sister told Dr. Drew Pinsky that Ray possibly supplied the late diva with the drugs that led to her death, an allegation that Ray immediately slammed.
Ray J might not get along with the family of Whitney Houston, but he deeply cared for the diva. “The world lost an icon but I lost a close friend,” he said when he learned of Houston’s death. “Nippy, I miss you so much!” Saying “You were so happy and full of love,” Ray promised Houston that “Your smile will live in my heart forever.”
Whitney Houston family drama during Billboard Music Awards
May 22nd, 2012 by edsel
The family of the late Whitney Houston reportedly stirred up a hotbed of drama behind the scenes of the Billboard Music Awards this Sunday.
Perez Hilton reported that Whitney Houston was post-posthumously honored with the Millennium Award for her accomplishments during her lifetime. Houston’s daughter Bobbi Kristina and her sister-in-law Pat Houston accepted the award in place of the deceased diva.
However, according to sources close to Billboard Music Awards production, those same members of the family of Whitney Houston triggered behind-the-scenes drama and complications as they argued over who should be the one who accepted the Millennium Award.
The sources claimed that Bobbi Kristina -Whitney’s only daughter with estranged husband Bobbi Brown- was scheduled to give a speech in honor of her mother. However, Whitney’s sis-in-law Pat Houston also wanted to appear during the segment.
The Perez Hilton sources claimed that Pat supposedly caused such a ruckus that the producers of the Billboard Music Awards decided to resolve the issue by allowing her to join Bobbi on the the stage.
Whitney Houston died this February. A Lifetime reality show featuring her family is in the works, which Whitney’s mother Cissy Houston believes would immensely help Bobbi Kristina in her own singing career.
Whitney Houston target of controversial Joan Rivers joke
May 22nd, 2012 by edsel
Nothing is sacred to controversial comedian Joan Rivers- not even the late Whitney Houston.
According to Gossip Cop, Rivers has been pushing at boundaries with her comedy for decades. Her new book, however, takes a crack about the late Whitney Houston that is raising some eyebrows.
In the travel section of ‘I Hate Everyone… Starting With Me,’ Joan Rivers wrote that “I hate Houston.” She reasoned that “It’s crawling with bugs”- and then ‘corrected’ herself by swapping out Houston the city for Houston the singer.
“Oh, wait, that’s Whitney Houston,” Rivers joked. “I’m sorry, my bad.” Not letting up on the late singer, Rivers cracked, “(Can I just mention that Whitney looked fabulous at the Grammys?)” noting that “(She was in mahogany from head to toe.)”
According to Joan Rivers, celebrities -including Whitney Houston- are acceptable targets for outrageous jokes, be they dead or alive.
Raffles van Exel denies supplying cocaine to Whitney Houston
May 21st, 2012 by edsel
A close -and mysterious- friend of Whitney Houston is declaring war on media outlets that kicked off accusations that he supplied the late singer with cocaine shortly before her death.
According to TMZ, Raffles van Exel states that he isn’t “the architect nor the culprit of the sudden demise of Whitney Houston.”
Van Exel was with Whitney Houston mere hours before her death at the Beverly Hilton hotel in February. Widespread reports strongly insinuated that he was the singer’s secret cocaine supplier.
Other reports suggested that van Exel took the infamous picture of Whitney’s body in a coffin, which was then sold to a tabloid.
All the accusations have apparently gotten on van Exel’s nerves. In addition to fiercely denying all the reports, he has also taken aggressive legal steps to defend his name.
Raffles van Exel has launched a wave of cease and desist letters to media outlets that had made nefarious claims linking him to the tragic death of Whitney Houston. He demands full retractions and threatens possible legal action.
Van Exel describes himself as a “private consultant to the stars”, but there is little public information on who he really is and what he does.
In addition to his friendship with Whitney Houston, Raffles van Exel was also linked to Michael Jackson during the latter’s molestation trial in 2005. He is also apparently close to legendary jazz musician George Benson.
The last days of Whitney Houston as told by Vanity Fair
May 7th, 2012 by edsel
The June issue of Vanity Fair unveils even more facts about the last days of late singer Whitney Houston. E! News reports that the magazine issue -which will go on sale this week- drew its information from sources and friends close to the deceased diva.
Like many stars, Whitney Houston apparently used a secret identity to protect her privacy. A week before her scheduled appearance at Clive Davis’ pre-Grammy party, Whitney and a small group arrived at the Beverly Hilton. Vanity Fair reported that Whitney checked in using the pseudonym ‘Elizabeth Collins.’
And according to her friends, Whitney was also working on getting clean. She had reconnected with her drug counselor Warren Boyd just before she died.
Her friends also dismissed earlier reports of the supposed ‘spectacle’ of Whitney Houston doing handstands alongside the pool of the Beverly Hilton during her final week. They claimed to Vanity Fair that such behavior was not erratic or drug-addled, but proof of Whitney starting fresh. Houston’s handstands were the results of her daily exercise and vow to quit smoking.
Whitney’s friends also explained the eruption in the Beverly Hilton gift shop. Whitney Houston had spotted a National Enquirer headline that declared, “Whitney Collapses! Strung Out & Broke, It’s Worse Than Anyone Thought!” The sobered-up singer simply took the criticism too hard.
Vanity Fair reported that Whitney Houston was also preparing for a comeback. She entered the studio the Tuesday before her death to work on ‘Celebrate,’ her duet with Jordin Sparks for their movie ‘Sparkle.’
She was also involved with other men. During her divorce with Bobby Brown, Whitney’s estranged husband hooked up with video vixen Karrine Steffans. Steffans recalled that Bobby Brown received a phone call from Ray J, on-off lover of Whitney Houston.
“He said, ‘Is Bob still staying you?’” Karrine Steffans recounted to Vanity Fair. “I said, ‘Yeah, he’s right here.’ And Ray said, ‘Tell him I f–ked both of his chicks, you and now his wife.’”
In addition to Ray J, Whitney Houston hung out with Grammy nominee Kelly Price. Just two nights before her death, Whitney accompanied Price at an event at Tru nightclub.
After taking to stage to sing ‘Jesus Loves Me,’ Whitney reportedly confronted ‘X Factor’ performer Stacy Francis. According to Vanity Fair, Whitney allegedly shouted “This is my man!” at Stacy Francis, whom she suspected was trailing Price. “I’m a cougar! Bitch, get away from my man!”
Photograpers caught Whitney Houston on her way out of the club with scratched and bruised legs. Stacy Francis later called the encounter “a misunderstanding.”
Finally, Vanity Fair revealed why officials took so long to remove Houston’s body from her Beverly Hilton hotel room. According to the magazine’s account, it wasn’t than any red tape or incompetence, but Whitney’s heartbroken family and friends.
Cousin Dionne Warwick was the calmest of Whitney’s family. She took time to shake hands with coroner Ed Winter. ”I know Mr. Winter will take good care of Whitney,” she told everyone present.
“Thank you for taking such good care of Michael Jackson,” Dionne told Eric Winter.
Vanity Fair said that Eric Winter waited until the early hours of the night before removing the body of Whitney Houston because it took that long to clear the lobby of the likes of Tom Hanks, Diddy, Neil Young, and Tony Bennett.
And even after the lobby was cleared, Whitney’s family wasn’t quite ready to say goodbye to her. Whitney’s daughter Bobbi Kristina required her own medical assistance, and sister-in-law Pat Houston suffered “kind of an anxiety attack.”
“The family wanted to maybe spend a few minutes with her before we loaded her off,” Eric Winter told Vanity Fair regarding the grieving family of Whitney Houston.
