Bodyguards of Jay-Z “literally kicked down the whole door” of a ‘Watch the Throne’ backstage bathroom to free a highly-embarrassed Jessie J, who had accidentally locked herself in.
According to Perez Hilton, the ‘Voice UK’ coach attended the very first concert by Jay and his protégé Kanye West in London. ”I went with Will.i.am to the first ‘Watch the Throne’ show in London,” she said.
Jessie J related how excited she was to walk on stage with the powerhouse crew of performers that included Jay-Z, Kanye, Will, and Kanye’s girlfriend Kim Kardashian. “I was like, ‘Wow, what a crew,” she recalled.
“Then me and my friend got stuck in the toilet,” Jessie brought up.
Perez Hilton clarified that Jessie J and her female friend had accidentally locked themselves in the bathroom. “We nipped in to do our make-up,” she told ‘Voice UK,’ “And my friend knew the door was broken but [she] locked it anyway and said, ‘Babe I think I’ve broken the door.’”
The two ladies could still hear Jay-Z and Kanye West rocking delighted Londoners. “They’d been on for one song,” Jessie recalled. “We could hear them.”
Fortunately for Jessie J and her gal pal, Perez Hilton reported that Jay-Z finally heard of their distress. “It got to about 15 minutes,” Jessie remembered, “And Jay’s security came in. According to the ‘Voice UK’ mentor, “They literally kicked down the whole door,” giving Jessie the chance to brag in the future that she was saved by Jay’s bodyguards.
Jay-Z and Kanye West are currently continuing their ‘Watch the Throne’ tour in Europe.
Will.i.am custom car lacks plates, gets impounded by cops
June 19th, 2012 by edsel
Will.i.am won’t get to cruise around Hollywood in his custom car -the one that looks like a white DeLorean DMC-12, because cops impounded said car last Thursday for lacking the proper paperwork.
Sources in law enforcement informed E! News that the Black Eyed Peas member was pulled over by the police on Thursday. When officers asked him to show them the proper paperwork for the white vehicle, Will.i.am was unable to do so.
When police investigated the matter, it turned out that Will.i.am’s ride was not registered. It also lacked a VIN number or plates.
According to E! News sources, Will.i.am informed the officers that his cool car lacked the necessary paperwork because it was custom-made. He also said that he was aware that a custom car should not be on the road, but he had wanted to drive it anyway.
Police issued Will.i.am a citation. They then impounded his custom car, where it currently remained.
The E! News source added that detectives researched the parts used in the car. According to the source, they found out that Will.i.am had not registered those parts for ten years.
In an interview with Jay Leno on ‘The Tonight Show’ this January, Will.i.am announced that he had founded a new car company, IAMAUTO. The custom car he got caught driving around Hollywood resembled the planned first model of his new company, which critics have compared to the DeLorean DMC-12 made famous by the ’Back To The Future’ movies.
Will.i.am: “I never really liked talent shows”
May 2nd, 2012 by edsel
‘The Voice’ judge Will.i.am admitted that “I never really liked talent shows” on Sunday’s elimination show- before tweeting during the crucial eviction hour. The Daily Mail reported that the The Black Eyed Peas singer made the bizarre confession while deliberating upon which one of his acts -Joelle Moses or Sophie Griffin- should he send home.
Will.i.am immediately qualified his remark on talk shows by saying ‘The Voice‘ was ‘different.’ He didn’t detail just how his show was different, but he quickly got back on topic by focusing on the two acts whose fates he would decide.
“This is like the hardest thing, right, because both of you guys are amazing talents,” Will.i.am continued. “Sophie, you’re special. You’ve learned so much in two months, in two months. It took me freakin’ 10 years to learn what you learned in two months. But somebody has to go home.”
Will.i.am is trying to convey a more ‘organic’ approach than his fellow judges. He said at the beginning of ‘The Voice’ that he had no idea who he might potentially send home. Instead, he intended to keep an open mind throughout the episode.
‘I like to experience the performances as the audience does,’ Will.i.am claims.
However, despite the weighty decision that would change the life of his contestants -and the eyes of nearly ten million viewers -
Will.i.am still succumbed to the lure of his BlackBerry.
While his fellow judges on ‘The Voice’ talked about contestant Jaz Ellington, Will.i.am. busied himself on Twitter. He was filmed using his mobile a number of times.
Viewers of ‘The Voice’ immediately criticized Will.i.am. One Twitter saying: ‘It looks like your bored.’ Another added: ‘Using your phone during Jaz came across as incredibly rude!’
Will.i.am replied: ‘If you saw me on my phone I wasn’t being rude… I was connecting to people watching. ’tv, phone, laptop, & tablet.. its a new day…if I dont tweet during live tv Im not connecting to people watching in the new way #thevoiceuk.’
Still, sources in ‘The Voice’ claimed that the show’s bosses might tell him to stop using his phone when they’re shooting.
Will.i.am found an unexpected supporter. ‘He should be able to use his phone,’ Tom Jones’ first reject, 20-year-old Sam Buttery, said. “It’s an interactive show and it should be about involving the public.’
